آل عمران

ĀL ʿIMRĀN

THE FAMILY OF IMRAN

이므란의 가족

 

 

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

자비로우시고 자애로우신 하나님의 이름으로

 

 

1) الم

a-l-m (ʾalif lām mīm)

Alif, Lām, Mīm.

알리프 람 밈

 

2) ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ

allāhu lā ʾilāha ʾillā huwa l-ḥayyu l-qayyūmu

Allah—there is no god except Him— is the Living One, the All-sustainer.

하나님 외에는 신이 없으며 그 분은 생존하시며 영원하시도다.

 

3) نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ

nazzala ʿalayka l-kitāba bi-l-ḥaqqi muṣaddiqan li-mā bayna yadayhi wa-ʾanzala t-tawrāta wa-l-ʾinjīla

He has sent down to you the Book with the truth confirming what was [revealed] before it, and He had sent down the Torah and the Evangel.

하나님은 구약과 신약을 내리셨고 앞서 온 것을 진리로 확증하면서 그대에게 그 책을 계시하노라.

 

4) مِن قَبْلُ هُدًۭى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ شَدِيدٌۭ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌۭ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ

min qablu hudan li-n-nāsi wa-ʾanzala l-furqāna ʾinna lladhīna kafarū bi-ʾāyāti llāhi lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun wa-llāhu ʿazīzun dhū ntiqāmin

before as guidance for mankind, and He has sent down the Criterion.1 Indeed those who defy the signs of Allah, there is a severe punishment for them; and Allah is all-mighty, avenger.

이전의 사람들을 위한 복음이라. 그리고 옳고 그름의 지침서를 내렸노라. 하나님의 말씀들을 배반하는 자 그들에게는 엄한 벌이 있을 것이라. 하나님은 강하사 그들을 패배하게 하시니라.

 

5) إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ

 ʾinna llāha lā yakhfā ʿalayhi shayʾun fī l-ʾarḍi wa-lā fī s-samāʾi

Nothing is indeed hidden from Allah in the earth or in the sky.

천지에 있는 어떤 것도 하나님께는 은폐될 수 없노라.

 

6) هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

huwa lladhī yuṣawwirukum fī l-ʾarḥāmi kayfa yashāʾu lā ʾilāha ʾillā huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu

It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wishes. There is no god except Him, the All-mighty, the All-wise.

하나님은 그 분의 의지에 따라 자궁 속에서 너희를 만드시니 그 분 외에는 신이 없으며 그분은 권능과 지혜로 충만하심이라.

 

7) هُوَ الَّذي أَنزَلَ عَلَيكَ الكِتابَ مِنهُ آياتٌ مُحكَماتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الكِتابِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشابِهاتٌ ۖ فَأَمَّا

الَّذينَ في قُلوبِهِم زَيغٌ فَيَتَّبِعونَ ما تَشابَهَ مِنهُ ابتِغاءَ الفِتنَةِ وَابتِغاءَ تَأويلِهِ ۗ وَما يَعلَمُ تَأويلَهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

وَالرّاسِخونَ فِي العِلمِ يَقولونَ آمَنّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِن عِندِ رَبِّنا ۗ وَما يَذَّكَّرُ إِلّا أُولُو الأَلبابِ

huwa lladhī ʾanzala ʿalayka l-kitāba minhu ʾāyātun muḥkamātun hunna ʾummu l-kitābi wa-ʾukharu mutashābihātun fa-ʾammā lladhīna fī qulūbihim zayghun fa-yattabiʿūna mā tashābaha minhu btighāʾa l-fitnati wa-btighāʾa taʾwīlihī wa-mā yaʿlamu taʾwīlahū ʾillā llāhu wa-r-rāsikhūna fī l-ʿilmi yaqūlūna ʾāmannā bihī kullun min ʿindi rabbinā wa-mā yadhdhakkaru ʾillā ʾulū l-ʾalbābi

It is He who has sent down to you the Book. Parts of it are definitive verses, which are the mother of the Book, while others are metaphorical. As for those in whose hearts is deviance, they pursue what is metaphorical in it, courting temptation and courting its interpretation. But no one knows its interpretation except Allah and those firmly grounded in knowledge; they say, ‘We believe in it; all of it is from our Lord.’ And none takes admonition except those who possess intellect.

그대에게 그 책을 계시한 분이 하나님이시며 그 안에는 근본의 말씀이 있어 성서의 모체가 되고 다른 것은 비유적이라. 그러나 그들 심중에 의심을 가진 자들은 비유적인 것을 따라 이설을 조성하고 그 안에 숨겨진 것을 갈구하나 하나님 외에는 아무도 숨겨진 의미를 알지 못하도다. 어떤 지식에 인식되어버린 자들은 ‘우리는 그것을 믿나이다. 모든 것은 우리 의 주님으로부터 왔나이다.’ 라고 말하나 지식을 가진 자 외에는 아무도 그 의미를 이해할 수 없노라.

 

8) رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

rabbanā lā tuzigh qulūbanā baʿda ʾidh hadaytanā wa-hab lanā min ladunka raḥmatan ʾinnaka ʾanta l-wahhābu

[They say,] ‘Our Lord! Do not make our hearts swerve after You have guided us, and bestow Your mercy on us. Indeed You are the All-munificent.

주여! 당신께서 저희를 인도하신 후 저희의 마음이 방황치 않도록 하여 주시고 저희에게 자비를 내려 주소서. 진실로 당신은 은혜를 베푸시는 분이십니다.

 

9) رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍۢ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ

rabbanā ʾinnaka jāmiʿu n-nāsi li-yawmin lā rayba fīhi ʾinna llāha lā yukhlifu l-mīʿāda

Our Lord! You will indeed gather mankind on a day in which there is no doubt. Indeed Allah does not break His promise.’

주여! 당신은 의심할 바 없는 어느 날에 모든 인간을 한곳에 모이게 하시나니 하나님은 결코 약속을 어기지 않으시니라.

 

10) إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ

 ʾinna lladhīna kafarū lan tughniya ʿanhum ʾamwāluhum wa-lā ʾawlāduhum mina llāhi shayʾan wa-ʾulāʾika hum waqūdu n-nāri

As for the faithless, neither their wealth nor their children shall avail them anything against Allah; it is they who will be fuel for the Fire;

믿음을 배반한 그들의 재산과 자손이 그들에게 아무런 효용이 되지 못하고 불의 연료가 될 것이라.

 

11) كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

ka-daʾbi ʾāli firʿawna wa-lladhīna min qablihim kadhdhabū bi-ʾāyātinā fa-ʾakhadhahumu llāhu bi-dhunūbihim wa-llāhu shadīdu l-ʿiqābi

as in the case of Pharaoh’s clan and those who were before them, who denied Our signs. So Allah seized them for their sins, and Allah is severe in retribution.

파라오의 백성들과 이전 백성들은 하나님의 계시를 불신 했으매 하나님은 그 죄의 대가로 그들을 포획하셨으니 하나님의 벌은 엄하시도다.

 

12) قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ

qul li-lladhīna kafarū sa-tughlabūna wa-tuḥsharūna ʾilā jahannama wa-biʾsa l-mihādu

Say to the faithless, ‘You shall be overcome and mustered toward hell, and it is an evil resting place.’

믿음을 부정한 자들에게 이르되, ‘그들은 곧 멸망당하여 악마 의 거주자인 지옥에 모이게 되리라’ 말하라.

 

13) قَد كانَ لَكُم آيَةٌ في فِئَتَينِ التَقَتا ۖ فِئَةٌ تُقاتِلُ في سَبيلِ اللَّهِ وَأُخرىٰ كافِرَةٌ يَرَونَهُم مِثلَيهِم رَأيَ

العَينِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصرِهِ مَن يَشاءُ ۗ إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَعِبرَةً لِأُولِي الأَبصارِ

qad kāna lakum ʾāyatun fī fiʾatayni ltaqatā fiʾatun tuqātilu fī sabīli llāhi wa-ʾukhrā kāfiratun yarawnahum mithlayhim raʾya l-ʿayni wa-llāhu yuʾayyidu bi-naṣrihī man yashāʾu ʾinna fī dhālika la-ʿibratan li-ʾulī l-ʾabṣāri

There was certainly a sign for you in the two hosts that met: one host fighting in the way of Allah and the other faithless, who saw them visibly twice as many. Allah strengthens with His help whomever He wishes. There is indeed a moral in that for those who have insight.

이미 너희를 위해 계시가 있었노라. 두 부대가 전쟁을 하매, 한 부대는 하나님의 길에서 싸웠고 다른 부대는 믿지 아나하였으며 그들의 숫자는 곱절이었도다. 그러나 하나님은 그 분의 뜻에 따라 승리를 거두시니 실로 이것은 눈을 가진 자들을 위한 교훈이라.

 

14) زُيِّنَ لِلنّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَواتِ مِنَ النِّساءِ وَالبَنينَ وَالقَناطيرِ المُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالفِضَّةِ وَالخَيلِ

المُسَوَّمَةِ وَالأَنعامِ وَالحَرثِ ۗ ذٰلِكَ مَتاعُ الحَياةِ الدُّنيا ۖ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ حُسنُ المَآبِ

zuyyina li-n-nāsi ḥubbu sh-shahawāti mina n-nisāʾi wa-l-banīna wa-l-qanāṭīri l-muqanṭarati mina dh-dhahabi wa-l-fiḍḍati wa-l-khayli l-musawwamati wa-l-ʾanʿāmi wa-l-ḥarthi dhālika matāʿu l-ḥayāti d-dunyā wa-llāhu ʿindahū ḥusnu l-maʾābi

To mankind has been made to seem decorous the love of [worldly] desires, including women and children, accumulated piles of gold and silver, horses of mark, livestock, and farms. Those are the wares of the life of this world; but Allah—with Him is a good destination.

여성들과 자녀들과 금은보화들과 말들과 가축들과 농경지들은 인간의 현세 즐거움으로 장식 되었으니 이것들은 현세 생활의 즐거움이라. 그러나 하나님 가까이 있는 것이 보다 즐거운 안식처라.

 

15) ۞ قُل أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيرٍ مِن ذٰلِكُم ۚ لِلَّذينَ اتَّقَوا عِندَ رَبِّهِم جَنّاتٌ تَجري مِن تَحتِهَا الأَنهارُ

خالِدينَ فيها وَأَزواجٌ مُطَهَّرَةٌ وَرِضوانٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بَصيرٌ بِالعِبادِ

qul ʾa-ʾunabbiʾukum bi-khayrin min dhālikum li-lladhīna ttaqaw ʿinda rabbihim jannātun tajrī min taḥtihā l-ʾanhāru khālidīna fīhā wa-ʾazwājun muṭahharatun wa-riḍwānun mina llāhi wa-llāhu baṣīrun bi-l-ʿibādi

Say, ‘Shall I inform you of something better than that? For those who are Godwary there will be gardens near their Lord, with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever], and chaste mates, and Allah’s pleasure.’ And Allah sees best the servants.

그것들보다 훨씬 좋은 복음을 내가 그대에게 주리니 일러 가로되 그것은 하나님을 공경하는 사람을 위한 천국이며 그 밑에는 강이 흐르고 티 없는 배우자와 더불어 하나님의 기쁨으로 그 곳에서영생하리라. 하나님은 그 분의 종복들을 지켜보고 계시니라.

 

16) ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

alladhīna yaqūlūna rabbanā ʾinnanā ʾāmannā fa-ghfir lanā dhunūbanā wa-qinā ʿadhāba n-nāri

Those who say, ‘Our Lord! Indeed we have faith. So forgive us our sins, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.’

그들은 말하길, 주여! 저희는 믿나니 저희의 죄들을 용서하여 주시고 불지옥의 재앙으로부터 보호하여 주소서.

 

17) ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ

aṣ-ṣābirīna wa-ṣ-ṣādiqīna wa-l-qānitīna wa-l-munfiqīna wa-l-mustaghfirīna bi-l-ʾasḥāri

Patient and truthful, obedient and charitable, and pleading [Allah’s] forgiveness at dawns.

이들은 인내하는 자들이며 진실한 자들이며 순종하는 자들이며 자선을 베푸는 자들이며 용서를 구하기 위하여 이른 새벽에 있는 자들이라.

 

18) شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

shahida llāhu ʾannahū lā ʾilāha ʾillā huwa wa-l-malāʾikatu wa-ʾulū l-ʿilmi qāʾiman bi-l-qisṭi lā ʾilāha ʾillā huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu

Allah bears witness that there is no god except Him —and [so do] the angels and those who possess knowledge— maintainer of justice, there is no god but Him, the Almighty, the All-wise.

하나님께서 증언하사 그 분 외에는 신이 없으며 천사들과 학자들도 전지전능하신 그 분 외에는 신이 없음을 확증하노라.

 

19) إِنَّ الدّينَ عِندَ اللَّهِ الإِسلامُ ۗ وَمَا اختَلَفَ الَّذينَ أوتُوا الكِتابَ إِلّا مِن بَعدِ ما جاءَهُمُ العِلمُ بَغيًا

بَينَهُم ۗ وَمَن يَكفُر بِآياتِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَريعُ الحِسابِ

 ʾinna d-dīna ʿinda llāhi l-ʾislāmu wa-mā khtalafa lladhīna ʾūtū l-kitāba ʾillā min baʿdi mā jāʾahumu l-ʿilmu baghyan baynahum wa-man yakfur bi-ʾāyāti llāhi fa-ʾinna llāha sarīʿu l-ḥisābi

Indeed, with Allah religion is Islām, and those who were given the Book did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves. And whoever defies Allah’s signs [should know that] Allah is swift at reckoning.

하나님의 종교는 이슬람뿐이며 이전에 성서를 받은 이들도 달리하지 아니하였으나, 그 후 그들에게 그른 지식이 도래하였더라. 하나님의 말씀을 불신하는 자, 하나님의 심판을 곧 받으리라.

 

20) فَإِن حاجّوكَ فَقُل أَسلَمتُ وَجهِيَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِ ۗ وَقُل لِلَّذينَ أوتُوا الكِتابَ وَالأُمِّيّينَ أَأَسلَمتُم ۚ

فَإِن أَسلَموا فَقَدِ اهتَدَوا ۖ وَإِن تَوَلَّوا فَإِنَّما عَلَيكَ البَلاغُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بَصيرٌ بِالعِبادِ

fa-ʾin ḥājjūka fa-qul ʾaslamtu wajhiya li-llāhi wa-mani ttabaʿani wa-qul li-lladhīna ʾūtū l-kitāba wa-l-ʾummiyyīna ʾa-ʾaslamtum fa-ʾin ʾaslamū fa-qadi htadaw wa-ʾin tawallaw fa-ʾinnamā ʿalayka l-balāghu wa-llāhu baṣīrun bi-l-ʿibādi

So if they argue with you, say, ‘I have submitted my will to Allah, and [so has] he who follows me.’ And say to those who were given the Book and the uninstructed ones, ‘Do you submit?’ If they submit, they will certainly be guided; but if they turn away, then your duty is only to communicate; and Allah sees best the servants.

만일 그들이 그대에게 논쟁 한다면 나는 하나님께 귀의하였으며 나를 따르는 자들도 그러하다고 말하라. 성서의 백성들에게 그리고 알지 못하는 자들에게 너희는 귀의하였느냐고 말하라. 만약 그들이 귀의한다면 그들은 옳은 길로 인도될 것이며 그들이 등을 돌린다 해도 그 계시를 전하는 것은 그대의 의무이라. 실로 하나님은 그 분의 종복들을 지켜보고 계시니라.

 

21) إِنَّ الَّذينَ يَكفُرونَ بِآياتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقتُلونَ النَّبِيّينَ بِغَيرِ حَقٍّ وَيَقتُلونَ الَّذينَ يَأمُرونَ بِالقِسطِ مِنَ

النّاسِ فَبَشِّرهُم بِعَذابٍ أَليمٍ

 ʾinna lladhīna yakfurūna bi-ʾāyāti llāhi wa-yaqtulūna n-nabiyyīna bi-ghayri ḥaqqin wa-yaqtulūna lladhīna yaʾmurūna bi-l-qisṭi mina n-nāsi fa-bashshirhum bi-ʿadhābin ʾalīmin

Those who defy Allah’s signs and kill the prophets unjustly, and kill those who call for justice from among the people, inform them of a painful punishment.

하나님의 말씀을 불신하고 예언자들을 부당하게 살해하며 말씀을 전달하는 자들을 살인하는 자 그들 모두에게 고통스러운 벌이 있을 것이라.

 

22) أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

 ʾulāʾika lladhīna ḥabiṭat ʾaʿmāluhum fī d-dunyā wa-l-ʾākhirati wa-mā lahum min nāṣirīna

They are the ones whose works have failed in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers.

그들의 일은 현세에서나 내세에서도 무의미할 것이며, 그들을 도와 줄 어느 누구도 없노라.

 

23) أَلَم تَرَ إِلَى الَّذينَ أوتوا نَصيبًا مِنَ الكِتابِ يُدعَونَ إِلىٰ كِتابِ اللَّهِ لِيَحكُمَ بَينَهُم ثُمَّ يَتَوَلّىٰ فَريقٌ

مِنهُم وَهُم مُعرِضونَ

 ʾa-lam tara ʾilā lladhīna ʾūtū naṣīban mina l-kitābi yudʿawna ʾilā kitābi llāhi li-yaḥkuma baynahum thumma yatawallā farīqun minhum wa-hum muʿriḍūna

Have you not regarded those who were given a share of the Book, who are summoned to the Book of Allah in order that it may judge between them, whereat a part of them refuse to comply and they are disregardful?

너희는 성서의 일부를 받은 그들을 보지 아니하였느뇨? 그들의 분쟁이 하나님의 성서로 해결되어져야 한다고 촉구되었으나 그들 일부는 뒤돌아서 반대하더라.

 

24) ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًۭا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍۢ ۖ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

dhālika bi-ʾannahum qālū lan tamassanā n-nāru ʾillā ʾayyāman maʿdūdātin wa-gharrahum fī dīnihim mā kānū yaftarūna

That is because they say, ‘The Fire shall not touch us except for a number of days,’ and they have been misled in their religion by what they used to fabricate.

그들이 말하길, 그 불은 우리를 스치지 아니할 것이며, 스치더라도 단지 한정된 며칠간에 불과 하리라. 그들은 그들의 종교에 관해 자신들을 배반하였더라.

 

25) فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٍۢ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

fa-kayfa ʾidhā jamaʿnāhum li-yawmin lā rayba fīhi wa-wuffiyat kullu nafsin mā kasabat wa-hum lā yuẓlamūna

But how will it be [with them] when We gather them on a day in which there is no doubt, and every soul shall be recompensed fully for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged?

그러나 하나님이 의심할 바 없는 하루를 대비하여 그들을 모았을 때 그들은 어떻게 되겠느뇨? 각자는 그들이 얻은 것만큼 대가를 받되 불공평한 보상은 받지 않노라.

 

26) قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مالِكَ المُلكِ تُؤتِي المُلكَ مَن تَشاءُ وَتَنزِعُ المُلكَ مِمَّن تَشاءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشاءُ وَتُذِلُّ

مَن تَشاءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ الخَيرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَديرٌ

quli llāhumma mālika l-mulki tuʾtī l-mulka man tashāʾu wa-tanziʿu l-mulka mimman tashāʾu wa-tuʿizzu man tashāʾu wa-tudhillu man tashāʾu bi-yadika l-khayru ʾinnaka ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

Say, ‘O Allah, Master of all sovereignty! You give sovereignty to whomever You wish, and strip of sovereignty whomever You wish; You make mighty whomever You wish, and You abase whomever You wish; all good is in Your hand. Indeed You have power over all things.

일러 가로되, 권능의 왕이신 하나님이여! 당신은 당신의 뜻대로 권능을 주시기도 하고 권능을 빼앗기도 하시며 또 영광과 천함을 주시나니 당신의 손안에 모든 영광이 있나이다. 진실로 당신은 모든 일에 전지전능 하시도다.

 

27) تولِجُ اللَّيلَ فِي النَّهارِ وَتولِجُ النَّهارَ فِي اللَّيلِ ۖ وَتُخرِجُ الحَيَّ مِنَ المَيِّتِ وَتُخرِجُ المَيِّتَ مِنَ

الحَيِّ ۖ وَتَرزُقُ مَن تَشاءُ بِغَيرِ حِسابٍ

tūliju l-layla fī n-nahāri wa-tūliju n-nahāra fī l-layli wa-tukhriju l-ḥayya mina l-mayyiti wa-tukhriju l-mayyita mina l-ḥayyi wa-tarzuqu man tashāʾu bi-ghayri ḥisābin

You make the night pass into the day and You make the day pass into the night. You bring forth the living from the dead and You bring forth the dead from the living, and You provide for whomever You wish without any reckoning.’

당신은 밤을 낮으로 하고 낮을 밤으로 하시며 죽은 것을 살게 하고 살아 있는 것을 죽게 하시며 당신이 원하는 자에게 풍성한 양식을 주시도다.

 

28) لا يَتَّخِذِ المُؤمِنونَ الكافِرينَ أَولِياءَ مِن دونِ المُؤمِنينَ ۖ وَمَن يَفعَل ذٰلِكَ فَلَيسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ في

شَيءٍ إِلّا أَن تَتَّقوا مِنهُم تُقاةً ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفسَهُ ۗ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ المَصيرُ

lā yattakhidhi l-muʾminūna l-kāfirīna ʾawliyāʾa min dūni l-muʾminīna wa-man yafʿal dhālika fa-laysa mina llāhi fī shayʾin ʾillā ʾan tattaqū minhum tuqātan wa-yuḥadhdhirukumu llāhu nafsahū wa-ʾilā llāhi l-maṣīru

The faithful should not take the faithless for allies instead of the faithful, and whoever does that Allah will have nothing to do with him, except when you are wary of them out of caution. Allah warns you to beware of [disobeying] Him, and toward Allah is the return.

신앙인들은 불신자들을 신앙인들에 우선하여 친구로 택하지 아니하도다. 그렇게 하는 자가 있다면 하나님에 대한 믿음이 조금도 없나니, 항상 경계하여 그들로부터 너희 자신을 보호하는 길밖엔 없노라. 하나님은 너희로 하여금 그 분을 기억케 하여 주시니 최후의 목적은 하나님에게로 가니라.

 

29) قُل إِن تُخفوا ما في صُدورِكُم أَو تُبدوهُ يَعلَمهُ اللَّهُ ۗ وَيَعلَمُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَما فِي الأَرضِ ۗ

وَاللَّهُ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَديرٌ

qul ʾin tukhfū mā fī ṣudūrikum ʾaw tubdūhu yaʿlamhu llāhu wa-yaʿlamu mā fī s-samāwāti wa-mā fī l-ʾarḍi wa-llāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

Say, ‘Whether you hide what is in your hearts, or disclose it, Allah knows it, and He knows whatever there is in the heavens and whatever there is in the earth; and Allah has power over all things.’

일러 가로되, 너희 마음속에 숨기는 것이나 들어내는 것을 하나님은 모두 아시며 또한 천지에 있는 것도 알고 계시나니 하나님은 모든 일에 전지전능 하시도다.

 

30) يَومَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفسٍ ما عَمِلَت مِن خَيرٍ مُحضَرًا وَما عَمِلَت مِن سوءٍ تَوَدُّ لَو أَنَّ بَينَها وَبَينَهُ

أَمَدًا بَعيدًا ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفسَهُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ رَءوفٌ بِالعِبادِ

yawma tajidu kullu nafsin mā ʿamilat min khayrin muḥḍaran wa-mā ʿamilat min sūʾin tawaddu law ʾanna baynahā wa-baynahū ʾamadan baʿīdan wa-yuḥadhdhirukumu llāhu nafsahū wa-llāhu raʾūfun bi-l-ʿibādi

The day when every soul will find present whatever good it has done; and as to whatever evil it has done it will wish there were a far distance between it and itself. Allah warns you to beware of [disobeying] Him, and Allah is most kind to [His] servants.

모든 사람이 행하였던 선과 행하였던 악이 나타나는 그날에 각자는 그것과 그것 사이에 굉장 공간의 거리가 있었으면 하고 바랄 것이라. 하나님은 그 분의 벌로써 너희에게 경고하시니 하나님은 그의 종복들에게 은혜로 충만 하심이라.

 

31) قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

qul ʾin kuntum tuḥibbūna llāha fa-ttabiʿūnī yuḥbibkumu llāhu wa-yaghfir lakum dhunūbakum wa-llāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun

Say, ‘If you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.’

일러 가로되, 너희가 하나님을 사랑한다면 나를 따를 것이라. 그리하면 하나님께서 너희를 사랑하사 너희의 죄를 사하여 주시니 하나님은 용서와 자비로 충만하시니라.

 

32) قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

qul ʾaṭīʿū llāha wa-r-rasūla fa-ʾin tawallaw fa-ʾinna llāha lā yuḥibbu l-kāfirīna

Say, ‘Obey Allah and the Apostle.’ But if they turn away, indeed Allah does not like the faithless.

하나님과 그분의 선지자에게 순종하라 하였으니 이를 거역하는 자 하나님은 이 불신자들을 사랑하지 아니 하시니라.

 

33) ۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًۭا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

 ʾinna llāha ṣṭafā ʾādama wa-nūḥan wa-ʾāla ʾibrāhīma wa-ʾāla ʿimrāna ʿalā l-ʿālamīna

Indeed Allah chose Adam and Noah, and the progeny of Abraham and the progeny of Imran above all the nations;

하나님은 아담과 노아와 아브라함의 가족과 이므란의 가족을 모든 사람들 가운데서 선택하셨더라.

 

34) ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍۢ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

dhurriyyatan baʿḍuhā min baʿḍin wa-llāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun

some of them are descendants of the others, and Allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.

그들은 서로가 한 후예들이거늘 하나님은 모든 것을 알고 계시노라.

 

35) إِذ قالَتِ امرَأَتُ عِمرانَ رَبِّ إِنّي نَذَرتُ لَكَ ما في بَطني مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّل مِنّي ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ

السَّميعُ العَليمُ

 ʾidh qālati mraʾatu ʿimrāna rabbi ʾinnī nadhartu laka mā fī baṭnī muḥarraran fa-taqabbal minnī ʾinnaka ʾanta s-samīʿu l-ʿalīmu

When the wife of Imran said, ‘My Lord, I dedicate to You what is in my belly, in consecration. Accept it from me; indeed You are the All-hearing, the All-knowing.’

이므란의 여성이 말하길, 주여! 저의 태내에 있는 것을 당신에게 바치겠나니 이를 받아 주소서. 당신은 모든 것을 들으시며 알고 계시나이다.

 

36) فَلَمّا وَضَعَتها قالَت رَبِّ إِنّي وَضَعتُها أُنثىٰ وَاللَّهُ أَعلَمُ بِما وَضَعَت وَلَيسَ الذَّكَرُ كَالأُنثىٰ ۖ وَإِنّي

سَمَّيتُها مَريَمَ وَإِنّي أُعيذُها بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَها مِنَ الشَّيطانِ الرَّجيمِ

fa-lammā waḍaʿathā qālat rabbi ʾinnī waḍaʿtuhā ʾunthā wa-llāhu ʾaʿlamu bi-mā waḍaʿat wa-laysa dh-dhakaru ka-l-ʾunthā wa-ʾinnī sammaytuhā maryama wa-ʾinnī ʾuʿīdhuhā bika wa-dhurriyyatahā mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīmi

And when she bore her, she said, ‘My Lord, I have borne a female [child]’ —and Allah knew better what she had borne— ‘and the female is not like the male. I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to Your care against [the evil of] the outcast Satan.’

그녀가 분만을 하고서 말하길, 주여! 저는 여자 아이를 분만하였나이다. 하나님은 그녀가 분만한 것을 잘 아시도다. 남자가 여자와 같지 아니하니 그녀의 이름을 마리아라 하였나이다. 그녀와 그녀의 자손을 사탄으로부터 보호할 것을 명령하였노라.

 

37) فَتَقَبَّلَها رَبُّها بِقَبولٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنبَتَها نَباتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَها زَكَرِيّا ۖ كُلَّما دَخَلَ عَلَيها زَكَرِيَّا المِحرابَ

وَجَدَ عِندَها رِزقًا ۖ قالَ يا مَريَمُ أَنّىٰ لَكِ هٰذا ۖ قالَت هُوَ مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرزُقُ مَن

يَشاءُ بِغَيرِ حِسابٍ

fa-taqabbalahā rabbuhā bi-qabūlin ḥasanin wa-ʾanbatahā nabātan ḥasanan wa-kaffalahā zakariyyā kullamā dakhala ʿalayhā zakariyyā l-miḥrāba wajada ʿindahā rizqan qāla yā-maryamu ʾannā laki hādhā qālat huwa min ʿindi llāhi ʾinna llāha yarzuqu man yashāʾu bi-ghayri ḥisābin

Thereupon her Lord accepted her with a gracious acceptance, and made her grow up in a worthy fashion, and He charged Zechariah with her care. Whenever Zechariah visited her in the sanctuary, he would find provisions with her. He said, ‘O Mary, from where does this come for you?’ She said, ‘It comes from Allah. Allah provides whomever He wishes without any reckoning.’

주님께서 그녀를 가까이 수락하사 그녀가 순결하고 아름답게 성장하도록 사가라로 하여금 돌보도록 하셨노라. 그가 그녀의 요람에 들어갔을 때마다 그녀에게 먹을 양식이 있음을 발견하고서 말하길, ‘마리아여! 이것이 어디서 왔느뇨?’라 하니, 그녀가 말하길, ‘하나님으로부터 온 것입니다. 하나님은 그 분이 원하는 자에게 풍성한 양식을 주옵니다.’ 라고 말하더라.

 

38) هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةًۭ طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

hunālika daʿā zakariyyā rabbahū qāla rabbi hab lī min ladunka dhurriyyatan ṭayyibatan ʾinnaka samīʿu d-duʿāʾi

Thereat Zechariah supplicated his Lord. He said, ‘My Lord! Grant me a good offspring from You! Indeed You hear all supplications.’

그런 후 사가라는 주님께 기도 하며 말하길, ‘주여! 훌륭한 당신 의 자손을 제게 주옵소서. 당신은 그 기도를 듣고 계시나이다.’

 

39) فَنادَتهُ المَلائِكَةُ وَهُوَ قائِمٌ يُصَلّي فِي المِحرابِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحيىٰ مُصَدِّقًا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ

وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِنَ الصّالِحينَ

fa-nādathu l-malāʾikatu wa-huwa qāʾimun yuṣallī fī l-miḥrābi ʾanna llāha yubashshiruka bi-yaḥyā muṣaddiqan bi-kalimatin mina llāhi wa-sayyidan wa-ḥaṣūran wa-nabiyyan mina ṣ-ṣāliḥīna

Then the angels called out to him, as he stood praying in the sanctuary: ‘Allah gives you the good news of John, as a confirmer of a Word of Allah,1 eminent and chaste, a prophet, among the righteous.’

그가 요람에 서서 기도를 드리고 있노라니 천사들이 그를 불러 이르되, ‘하나님께서 요한으로 하여 너에게 소식을 전하리니 하나님의 말씀으로 한 아이가 잉태하여 태어나니 그가 예언자들 가운데 한 예언자가 되리라.’

 

40) قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌۭ ۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ

qāla rabbi ʾannā yakūnu lī ghulāmun wa-qad balaghaniya l-kibaru wa-mraʾatī ʿāqirun qāla ka-dhālika llāhu yafʿalu mā yashāʾu

He said, ‘My Lord, how shall I have a son while old age has overtaken me and my wife is barren?’ He said, ‘So it is that Allah does whatever He wishes.’

그가 말하길, ‘주여! 어떻게 제가 아들을 가질 수 있나이까? 저는 나이가 들었으며 저의 아내는 임신을 못하나이다.’ 이에 천사 가로되, ‘그렇게 되리라 뜻이 있으면 하나님은 행하시니라.’

 

41) قالَ رَبِّ اجعَل لي آيَةً ۖ قالَ آيَتُكَ أَلّا تُكَلِّمَ النّاسَ ثَلاثَةَ أَيّامٍ إِلّا رَمزًا ۗ وَاذكُر رَبَّكَ كَثيرًا

وَسَبِّح بِالعَشِيِّ وَالإِبكارِ

qāla rabbi jʿal lī ʾāyatan qāla ʾāyatuka ʾallā tukallima n-nāsa thalāthata ʾayyāmin ʾillā ramzan wa-dhkur rabbaka kathīran wa-sabbiḥ bi-l-ʿashiyyi wa-l-ʾibkāri

He said, ‘My Lord, grant me a sign.’ He said, ‘Your sign is that you will not speak to people for three days except in gestures. And remember Your Lord greatly, and glorify Him morning and evening.’

그가 말하길, ‘주여! 저에게 예증을 주옵소서.’ 이에 천사가 말하길, ‘너는 어느 누구에게도 몸짓 외에는 삼 일간을 말하지 말며 너의 주님을 수차례 염원하고 조석으로 그 분을 영광되게 하라.’

 

42) وَإِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصْطَفَىٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

wa-ʾidh qālati l-malāʾikatu yā-maryamu ʾinna llāha ṣṭafāki wa-ṭahharaki wa-ṣṭafāki ʿalā nisāʾi l-ʿālamīna

And when the angels said, ‘O Mary, Allah has chosen you and purified you, and He has chosen you above the world’s women.

또 천사가 말하길, ‘마리아여! 하나님이 너를 선택하사 청결케 했으며 너를 모든 여성들 위에 두셨노라.’

 

43) يَٰمَرْيَمُ ٱقْنُتِى لِرَبِّكِ وَٱسْجُدِى وَٱرْكَعِى مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ

yā-maryamu qnutī li-rabbiki wa-sjudī wa-rkaʿī maʿa r-rākiʿīna

O Mary, be obedient to your Lord, and prostrate and bow down with those who bow [in worship].’

마리아여! 경건한 자세로 너의 주님께 엎드려 경배하고 예배 하는 자들과 함께 허리 굽혀 예배하라.

 

44) ذٰلِكَ مِن أَنباءِ الغَيبِ نوحيهِ إِلَيكَ ۚ وَما كُنتَ لَدَيهِم إِذ يُلقونَ أَقلامَهُم أَيُّهُم يَكفُلُ مَريَمَ وَما

كُنتَ لَدَيهِم إِذ يَختَصِمونَ

dhālika min ʾanbāʾi l-ghaybi nūḥīhi ʾilayka wa-mā kunta ladayhim ʾidh yulqūna ʾaqlāmahum ʾayyuhum yakfulu maryama wa-mā kunta ladayhim ʾidh yakhtaṣimūna

These accounts are from the Unseen, which We reveal to you, and you were not with them when they were casting lots [to see] which of them would take charge of Mary’s care, nor were you with them when they were contending.

이것은 하나님이 그대에게 계시한 보이지 않는 복음의 일부이거늘, 누가 마리아를 보호할 것인가를 결정하기 위해 그들이 화살을 던졌을 때 그대는 그들과 함께 있지 아니하였으며 그들이 그것에 관해 논쟁을 할 때도 그대는 그들과 함께 있지 아니 하였노라.

 

45) إِذ قالَتِ المَلائِكَةُ يا مَريَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِنهُ اسمُهُ المَسيحُ عيسَى ابنُ مَريَمَ وَجيهًا

فِي الدُّنيا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ المُقَرَّبينَ

 ʾidh qālati l-malāʾikatu yā-maryamu ʾinna llāha yubashshiruki bi-kalimatin minhu smuhu l-masīḥu ʿīsā bnu maryama wajīhan fī d-dunyā wa-l-ʾākhirati wa-mina l-muqarrabīna

When the angels said, ‘O Mary, Allah gives you the good news of a Word from Him whose name is Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, distinguished in the world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near [to Allah].

천사들이 말하길, 마리아여! 하나님께서 너에게 말씀으로 복음을 주시니 마리아의 아들로써 그의 이름은 메시아 예수이니라. 그는 현세와 내세에서 훌륭한 주인이시오, 하나님 가까이 있는 자 가운데 한 분이라.

 

46) وَيُكَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلًۭا وَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

wa-yukallimu n-nāsa fī l-mahdi wa-kahlan wa-mina ṣ-ṣāliḥīna

He will speak to people in the cradle and in adulthood, and will be one of the righteous.’

그는 요람과 그리고 성장해서 사람들에게 말을 할 것이며 의로운 자들 가운데 있게 되리라.

 

47) قالَت رَبِّ أَنّىٰ يَكونُ لي وَلَدٌ وَلَم يَمسَسني بَشَرٌ ۖ قالَ كَذٰلِكِ اللَّهُ يَخلُقُ ما يَشاءُ ۚ إِذا قَضىٰ

أَمرًا فَإِنَّما يَقولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكونُ

qālat rabbi ʾannā yakūnu lī waladun wa-lam yamsasnī basharun qāla ka-dhāliki llāhu yakhluqu mā yashāʾu ʾidhā qaḍā ʾamran fa-ʾinnamā yaqūlu lahū kun fa-yakūnu

She said, ‘My Lord, how shall I have a child seeing that no human has ever touched me?’ He said, ‘So it is that Allah creates whatever He wishes. When He decides on a matter He just says to it “Be!” and it is.

그녀가 말하길, ‘주여! 제가 어떻게 아이를 가질 수 있습니까? 어떤 남자도 저를 스치지 아니하였습니다.’ 그가 말하길, ‘그렇게 되리라. 그 분의 뜻이라면 창조하시니라. 그 분이 어떤 일을 하고자 할 때 이렇게 말씀하시나니 있어라, 그러면 있느니라.’

 

48) وَيُعَلِّمُهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ

wa-yuʿallimuhu l-kitāba wa-l-ḥikmata wa-t-tawrāta wa-l-ʾinjīla

And He will teach him the Book and wisdom, the Torah and the Evangel,

그 분은 성서와 지혜와 구약과 신약을 그에게 가르치시어,

 

49) وَرَسولًا إِلىٰ بَني إِسرائيلَ أَنّي قَد جِئتُكُم بِآيَةٍ مِن رَبِّكُم ۖ أَنّي أَخلُقُ لَكُم مِنَ الطّينِ كَهَيئَةِ

الطَّيرِ فَأَنفُخُ فيهِ فَيَكونُ طَيرًا بِإِذنِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَأُبرِئُ الأَكمَهَ وَالأَبرَصَ وَأُحيِي المَوتىٰ بِإِذنِ اللَّهِ ۖ

وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِما تَأكُلونَ وَما تَدَّخِرونَ في بُيوتِكُم ۚ إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لَكُم إِن كُنتُم مُؤمِنينَ

wa-rasūlan ʾilā banī ʾisrāʾīla ʾannī qad jiʾtukum bi-ʾāyatin min rabbikum ʾannī ʾakhluqu lakum mina ṭ-ṭīni ka-hayʾati ṭ-ṭayri fa-ʾanfukhu fīhi fa-yakūnu ṭayran bi-ʾidhni llāhi wa-ʾubriʾu l-ʾakmaha wa-l-ʾabraṣa wa-ʾuḥyi l-mawtā bi-ʾidhni llāhi wa-ʾunabbiʾukum bi-mā taʾkulūna wa-mā taddakhirūna fī buyūtikum ʾinna fī dhālika la-ʾāyatan lakum ʾin kuntum muʾminīna

and [he will be] an apostle to the Children of Israel, [and he will declare,] ‘I have certainly brought you a sign from your Lord: I will create for you out of clay the form of a bird, then I will breathe into it, and it will become a bird by Allah’s leave. And I heal the blind and the leper and I revive the dead by Allah’s leave. And I will tell you what you have eaten and what you have stored in your houses. There is indeed a sign in that for you, should you be faithful.

이스라엘 자손에게 선지자로 보내리라. ‘나는 주님으로부터 예증을 받았노라. 내가 너희를 위하여 진흙으로 새의 형상을 만들어 숨을 불어넣으면 하나님의 허락으로 새가 될 것이라. 하나님이 허락하실 때 나는 장님과 문둥이들을 낫게 하며, 하나님의 허락이 있을 때 죽은 자를 살게 하며, 너희가 무엇을 먹으며 너희가 무엇을 집안에 축적하는가를 너희에게 알려주리라. 너희에게 신앙이 있을 때 너희를 위한 예증이 있노라.’

 

50) وَمُصَدِّقًا لِما بَينَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوراةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعضَ الَّذي حُرِّمَ عَلَيكُم ۚ وَجِئتُكُم بِآيَةٍ مِن

رَبِّكُم فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطيعونِ

wa-muṣaddiqan li-mā bayna yadayya mina t-tawrāti wa-li-ʾuḥilla lakum baʿḍa lladhī ḥurrima ʿalaykum wa-jiʾtukum bi-ʾāyatin min rabbikum fa-ttaqū llāha wa-ʾaṭīʿūni

And [I come] to confirm [the truth of] that which is before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of the things that were forbidden you. I have brought you a sign from your Lord; so be wary of Allah and obey me.

내 이전에 율법이 있었음을 확증하고 너희에게 금지되었던 몇 가지를 허용하기 위해 내거 너희에게 왔으며 주님으로부터 예증을 너희에게 가져왔으니 하나님을 두려워하고 나에게 순종할 것이라.

 

51) إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۗ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ

 ʾinna llāha rabbī wa-rabbukum fa-ʿbudūhu hādhā ṣirāṭun mustaqīmun

Indeed Allah is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is a straight path.’

하나님은 나의 주님이사 너희들의 주님이시니 그 분을 경배하라. 그것이 올바른 길이라.

 

52) ۞ فَلَمّا أَحَسَّ عيسىٰ مِنهُمُ الكُفرَ قالَ مَن أَنصاري إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ قالَ الحَوارِيّونَ نَحنُ أَنصارُ اللَّهِ

آمَنّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشهَد بِأَنّا مُسلِمونَ

fa-lammā ʾaḥassa ʿīsā minhumu l-kufra qāla man ʾanṣārī ʾilā llāhi qāla l-ḥawāriyyūna naḥnu ʾanṣāru llāhi ʾāmannā bi-llāhi wa-shhad bi-ʾannā muslimūna

And when Jesus sensed their faithlessness, he said, ‘Who will be my helpers toward Allah?’ The Disciples said, ‘We will be helpers of Allah. We have faith in Allah, and bear witness that we are muslims.

예수가 그들의 불신을 알고 소리쳐 가로되, ‘누가 하나님의 편에서 나를 따를 것인가?’ 그들이 대답하여 가로되, ‘저희는 하나님을 따르는 자들이며 하나님을 믿고 저희가 무슬림임을 증언하나이다.’ 라고 하더라.

 

53) رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ وَٱتَّبَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱكْتُبْنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ

rabbanā ʾāmannā bi-mā ʾanzalta wa-ttabaʿnā r-rasūla fa-ktubnā maʿa sh-shāhidīna

Our Lord, we believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the apostle, so write us among the witnesses.’

‘주여! 당신이 계시한 것을 믿사오며 당신이 보낸 선지자를 따르나이다. 저희들을 증언자 가운데 있게 하여 주소서.’

 

54) وَمَكَرُوا۟ وَمَكَرَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَٰكِرِينَ

wa-makarū wa-makara llāhu wa-llāhu khayru l-mākirīna

Then they1 plotted [against Jesus], and Allah also devised, and Allah is the best of devisers.

그들이 음모를 하나 하나님은 이에 대한 방책을 세우셨으니 하나님은 가장 훌륭한 계획자이시라.

 

55) إِذ قالَ اللَّهُ يا عيسىٰ إِنّي مُتَوَفّيكَ وَرافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ الَّذينَ كَفَروا وَجاعِلُ الَّذينَ اتَّبَعوكَ

فَوقَ الَّذينَ كَفَروا إِلىٰ يَومِ القِيامَةِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرجِعُكُم فَأَحكُمُ بَينَكُم فيما كُنتُم فيهِ تَختَلِفونَ

 ʾidh qāla llāhu yā-ʿīsā ʾinnī mutawaffīka wa-rāfiʿuka ʾilayya wa-muṭahhiruka mina lladhīna kafarū wa-jāʿilu lladhīna ttabaʿūka fawqa lladhīna kafarū ʾilā yawmi l-qiyāmati thumma ʾilayya marjiʿukum fa-ʾaḥkumu baynakum fī-mā kuntum fīhi takhtalifūna

When Allah said, ‘O Jesus, I shall take you[r soul], and I shall raise you up toward Myself, and I shall clear you of [the calumnies of] the faithless, and I shall set those who follow you above the faithless until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me will be your return, whereat I will judge between you concerning that about which you used to differ.

하나님이 말씀하사 ‘예수야 내가 너를 불러 내게로 승천케 한 너를 다시 임종케 할 것이라. 불신자들로부터 세제하며 너를 따르는 자, 부활의 그날까지 불신자들 위에 있게 하리라. 그런 다음 너희는 내게로 돌아오나니 너희가 달리한 것에 대해 가름을 하여 주리라.’

 

56) فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًۭا شَدِيدًۭا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

fa-ʾammā lladhīna kafarū fa-ʾuʿadhdhibuhum ʿadhāban shadīdan fī d-dunyā wa-l-ʾākhirati wa-mā lahum min nāṣirīna

As for the faithless, I will punish them with a severe punishment in the world and the Hereafter; and they will have no helpers.’

불신자들이여, 내가 너희에게 현세와 내세에서 엄한 징벌을 내릴지니 그들에게는 구원자가 없을 것이라.

 

57) وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

wa-ʾammā lladhīna ʾāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti fa-yuwaffīhim ʾujūrahum wa-llāhu lā yuḥibbu ẓ-ẓālimīna

But as for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, He will pay them in full their rewards, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers.

믿음을 갖고 선을 행하는 신앙인들이여, 하나님은 그들에게 충분한 보상을 내릴지니 하나님은 우매한 자들을 사랑하지 아니함이라.

 

58) ذَٰلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ وَٱلذِّكْرِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ

dhālika natlūhu ʿalayka mina l-ʾāyāti wa-dh-dhikri l-ḥakīmi

These that We recite to you are from the signs and the Wise Reminder.

이것이 하나님이 그대에게 계시한 말씀이며 지혜요 복음이라.

 

59) إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ ۖ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍۢ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

 ʾinna mathala ʿīsā ʿinda llāhi ka-mathali ʾādama khalaqahū min turābin thumma qāla lahū kun fa-yakūnu

Indeed the case of Jesus with Allah is like the case of Adam: He created him from dust, then said to him, ‘Be,’ and he was.

하나님께서 아담에게 그랬듯이 예수에게도 다를 바가 없노라. 하나님은 흙으로 그를 빚어 그에게 말씀하시니, 있어라 그리하여 그가 있었노라.

 

60) ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ

al-ḥaqqu min rabbika fa-lā takun mina l-mumtarīna

This is the truth from your Lord, so do not be among the skeptics.

이것은 너의 주님의 진리이거늘 의심하는 자가 되지 말라.

 

61) فَمَن حاجَّكَ فيهِ مِن بَعدِ ما جاءَكَ مِنَ العِلمِ فَقُل تَعالَوا نَدعُ أَبناءَنا وَأَبناءَكُم وَنِساءَنا

وَنِساءَكُم وَأَنفُسَنا وَأَنفُسَكُم ثُمَّ نَبتَهِل فَنَجعَل لَعنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الكاذِبينَ

fa-man ḥājjaka fīhi min baʿdi mā jāʾaka mina l-ʿilmi fa-qul taʿālaw nadʿu ʾabnāʾanā wa-ʾabnāʾakum wa-nisāʾanā wa-nisāʾakum wa-ʾanfusanā wa-ʾanfusakum thumma nabtahil fa-najʿal laʿnata llāhi ʿalā l-kādhibīna

Should anyone argue with you concerning him, after the knowledge that has come to you, say, ‘Come! Let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, our souls and your souls, then let us pray earnestly and call down Allah’s curse upon the liars.’

그대에게 지식이 이른 후에도 그에 대하여 논쟁을 하는 자가 있다면, 일러 가로되, 우리는 우리의 자손들과 너희의 자손들과 우리의 여성들과 너희의 여성들과 우리 자신들과 너희 자신들을 함께 소집하여 우리 주님께 기도하여 거짓말 하는 자들 위에 하나님의 벌이 있으라 하되,

 

62) إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْقَصَصُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۚ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

 ʾinna hādhā la-huwa l-qaṣaṣu l-ḥaqqu wa-mā min ʾilāhin ʾillā llāhu wa-ʾinna llāha la-huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu

This is indeed the true account, for sure. There is no god but Allah, and indeed Allah is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

이것이 사실적인 이야기들이거늘 하나님 외에는 신이 없도다. 실로 하나님이야말로 전능과 지혜로 충만하심이라.

 

63) فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

fa-ʾin tawallaw fa-ʾinna llāha ʿalīmun bi-l-mufsidīna

But if they turn away, indeed Allah knows best the agents of corruption.

만일 그들이 이 사실을 부인한다면, 실로 하나님은 이들 이단자들에게 벌을 내릴 것이라.

 

64) قُل يا أَهلَ الكِتابِ تَعالَوا إِلىٰ كَلِمَةٍ سَواءٍ بَينَنا وَبَينَكُم أَلّا نَعبُدَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ وَلا نُشرِكَ بِهِ شَيئًا وَلا

يَتَّخِذَ بَعضُنا بَعضًا أَربابًا مِن دونِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوا فَقولُوا اشهَدوا بِأَنّا مُسلِمونَ

qul yā-ʾahla l-kitābi taʿālaw ʾilā kalimatin sawāʾin baynanā wa-baynakum ʾallā naʿbuda ʾillā llāha wa-lā nushrika bihī shayʾan wa-lā yattakhidha baʿḍunā baʿḍan ʾarbāban min dūni llāhi fa-ʾin tawallaw fa-qūlū shhadū bi-ʾannā muslimūna

Say, ‘O People of the Book! Come to a word common between us and you: that we will worship no one but Allah, and that we will not ascribe any partner to Him, and that we will not take each other as lords besides Allah.’ But if they turn away, say, ‘Be witnesses that we are muslims.’

‘성서의 백성들이여! 우리들이나 너희들을 막론하고 하나의 말씀으로 오라 하여 하나님 외에는 다른 신을 경배하지 아니하고 그 무엇도 하나님과 비유하지 아니하며 우리 가운데 어느 누구도 하나님 외에 다른 것을 주님과 비교하지 말라.’ 이르되 만일 그들이 배반한다면 ‘실로 우리는 하나님의 유일성을 믿는 무슬림임을 지켜보라.’ 말하라.

 

65) يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ وَٱلْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

yā-ʾahla l-kitābi li-ma tuḥājjūna fī ʾibrāhīma wa-mā ʾunzilati t-tawrātu wa-l-ʾinjīlu ʾillā min baʿdihī ʾa-fa-lā taʿqilūna

O People of the Book! Why do you argue concerning Abraham? Neither the Torah nor the Evangel were sent down until [long] after him. Do you not apply reason?

성서의 백성들이여! 너희들은 어찌하여 아브라함에 대해 논쟁을 하느뇨? 구약이나 신약은 그 분 이후에 계시되었음을 너희들은 알지 않느뇨?

 

66) ها أَنتُم هٰؤُلاءِ حاجَجتُم فيما لَكُم بِهِ عِلمٌ فَلِمَ تُحاجّونَ فيما لَيسَ لَكُم بِهِ عِلمٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعلَمُ

وَأَنتُم لا تَعلَمونَ

hā-ʾantum hāʾulāʾi ḥājajtum fī-mā lakum bihī ʿilmun fa-li-ma tuḥājjūna fī-mā laysa lakum bihī ʿilmun wa-llāhu yaʿlamu wa-ʾantum lā taʿlamūna

Ah! You are the very ones who argue about that of which you have knowledge. Why then do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows and you do not know.

너희는 알고 있는 것에 관하여도 논쟁을 하느뇨? 그러면 왜 너희가 알지 못하는 것에 대해서는 논쟁을 하지 않느뇨? 하나님은 알고 계시나 너희는 알지 못하노라.

 

67) مَا كَانَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّۭا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّۭا وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًۭا مُّسْلِمًۭا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

mā kāna ʾibrāhīmu yahūdiyyan wa-lā naṣrāniyyan wa-lākin kāna ḥanīfan musliman wa-mā kāna mina l-mushrikīna

Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian. Rather he was a ḥanīf, a muslim, and he was not one of the polytheists.

아브라함은 유대인도 기독교인도 아닌 성실한 무슬림이었으며 또한 우상을 숭배한 분도 아니었노라.

 

68) إِنَّ أَوْلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَٰذَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

 ʾinna ʾawlā n-nāsi bi-ʾibrāhīma la-lladhīna ttabaʿūhu wa-hādhā n-nabiyyu wa-lladhīna ʾāmanū wa-llāhu waliyyu l-muʾminīna

Indeed the nearest of all people to Abraham are those who follow him, and this prophet and those who have faith, and Allah is the guardian of the faithful.

아브라함에 가장 가까이 있었던 사람들은 그를 따랐던 자들로 이 선지자와 믿음을 가졌던 자들이라. 하나님은 신앙인들의 보호자이시라.

 

69) وَدَّت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ

waddat ṭāʾifatun min ʾahli l-kitābi law yuḍillūnakum wa-mā yuḍillūna ʾillā ʾanfusahum wa-mā yashʿurūna

A group of the People of the Book were eager to lead you astray; yet they lead no one astray except themselves, but they are not aware.

성서의 백성가운데의 무리는 너희들이 방황하길 원했으나 그 들은 자신들을 방황케 하였노라. 그리고도 그들은 인식하지 못하더라.

 

70) يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ

yā-ʾahla l-kitābi li-ma takfurūna bi-ʾāyāti llāhi wa-ʾantum tashhadūna

O People of the Book! Why do you defy Allah’s signs while you testify [to their truth]?

성서의 백성들이여! 너희들은 왜 하나님의 말씀을 부정하느뇨? 너희는 그것이 진리임을 알지 않느뇨?

 

71) يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

yā-ʾahla l-kitābi li-ma talbisūna l-ḥaqqa bi-l-bāṭili wa-taktumūna l-ḥaqqa wa-ʾantum taʿlamūna

O People of the Book! Why do you mix the truth with falsehood, and conceal the truth while you know [it]?

성서의 백성들이여! 너희들은 왜 진실과 허위를 혼동시키며 알고 있으면서도 그 진실을 감추려 하느뇨?

 

72) وَقَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَجْهَ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱك¡#1618;فُرُوٓا۟ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

wa-qālat ṭāʾifatun min ʾahli l-kitābi ʾāminū bi-lladhī ʾunzila ʿalā lladhīna ʾāmanū wajha n-nahāri wa-kfurū ʾākhirahū laʿallahum yarjiʿūna

A group of the People of the Book say, ‘Believe in what has been sent down to the faithful at the beginning of the day, and disbelieve at its end, so that they may turn back [from their religion].’

성서의 일부 백성들이 말했더라. 아침에 믿는 자들에게 계시된 것을 믿되 저녁에는 그것을 불신하라. 아마도 그들 스스로 돌아오리라.

 

73) وَلا تُؤمِنوا إِلّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دينَكُم قُل إِنَّ الهُدىٰ هُدَى اللَّهِ أَن يُؤتىٰ أَحَدٌ مِثلَ ما أوتيتُم أَو

يُحاجّوكُم عِندَ رَبِّكُم ۗ قُل إِنَّ الفَضلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤتيهِ مَن يَشاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ واسِعٌ عَليمٌ

wa-lā tuʾminū ʾillā li-man tabiʿa dīnakum qul ʾinna l-hudā hudā llāhi ʾan yuʾtā ʾaḥadun mithla mā ʾūtītum ʾaw yuḥājjūkum ʿinda rabbikum qul ʾinna l-faḍla bi-yadi llāhi yuʾtīhi man yashāʾu wa-llāhu wāsiʿun ʿalīmun

‘And do not believe anyone except him who follows your religion.’ Say, ‘Indeed [true] guidance is the guidance of Allah.’ ‘[And do not believe] that anyone may be given the like of what you were given, or that he may argue with you before your Lord.’ Say, ‘Indeed all grace is in Allah’s hand; He grants it to whomever He wishes, and Allah is all-bounteous, all-knowing.

‘또 너희들의 종교를 따르는 자들을 제외하고는 아무도 믿지 말라.’ 하니, ‘진실한 복음은 하나님의 복음이라.’ 그들에게 말하여라. ‘너희에게 주어졌던 것처럼 어느 누구에게 계시가 있지 않을까 아니면 계시를 받을 그들이 너희들의 주님 앞에서 논쟁을 하지 않을까 라고 유대인 서로가 말하니,’ 그들에게 말하라. ‘실로 모든 은혜는 하나님께 있어 그 분이 원하시는 자에게 내려 주시니 하나님은 모든 것을 알고 계시니라.’

 

74) يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

yakhtaṣṣu bi-raḥmatihī man yashāʾu wa-llāhu dhū l-faḍli l-ʿaẓīmi

He singles out for His mercy whomever He wishes, and Allah is dispenser of a great grace.’

‘하나님은 그 분의 뜻에 따라 은혜를 베푸시니 하나님은 무한한 은총으로 충만하심이라.’

 

75) ۞ وَمِن أَهلِ الكِتابِ مَن إِن تَأمَنهُ بِقِنطارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيكَ وَمِنهُم مَن إِن تَأمَنهُ بِدينارٍ لا يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيكَ

إِلّا ما دُمتَ عَلَيهِ قائِمًا ۗ ذٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُم قالوا لَيسَ عَلَينا فِي الأُمِّيّينَ سَبيلٌ وَيَقولونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ

الكَذِبَ وَهُم يَعلَمونَ

wa-min ʾahli l-kitābi man ʾin taʾmanhu bi-qinṭārin yuʾaddihī ʾilayka wa-minhum man ʾin taʾmanhu bi-dīnārin lā yuʾaddihī ʾilayka ʾillā mā dumta ʿalayhi qāʾiman dhālika bi-ʾannahum qālū laysa ʿalaynā fī l-ʾummiyyīna sabīlun wa-yaqūlūna ʿalā llāhi l-kadhiba wa-hum yaʿlamūna

And among the People of the Book is he who if you entrust him with a quintal will repay it to you, and among them is he who, if you entrust him with a dinar will not repay it to you unless you stand persistently over him. That is because they say, ‘We have no obligation to the non-Jews.’ But they attribute lies to Allah, and they know [it].

성서의 백성들 중에는 천금을 보관하여도 그것을 돌려주는 무리가 있고, 또 그들 중에는 일전을 보관하여도 요구하지 아니하면 돌려주지 않는 무리가 있더라. 그리고서 그들은 그것에 대해 ‘우리 문맹인들에 대한 의무가 없도다.’ 라고 말하니 그들은 하나님에 대해 거짓말을 하고 있음을 잘 알고 있노라.

 

76) بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

balā man ʾawfā bi-ʿahdihī wa-ttaqā fa-ʾinna llāha yuḥibbu l-muttaqīna

Yes, whoever fulfills his commitments and is wary of Allah —Allah indeed loves the Godwary.

그러나 그의 약속을 이행하고 의로운 자는 실로 하나님의 사랑을 받을 것이라.

 

77) إِنَّ الَّذينَ يَشتَرونَ بِعَهدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيمانِهِم ثَمَنًا قَليلًا أُولٰئِكَ لا خَلاقَ لَهُم فِي الآخِرَةِ وَلا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ

اللَّهُ وَلا يَنظُرُ إِلَيهِم يَومَ القِيامَةِ وَلا يُزَكّيهِم وَلَهُم عَذابٌ أَليمٌ

 ʾinna lladhīna yashtarūna bi-ʿahdi llāhi wa-ʾaymānihim thamanan qalīlan ʾulāʾika lā khalāqa lahum fī l-ʾākhirati wa-lā yukallimuhumu llāhu wa-lā yanẓuru ʾilayhim yawma l-qiyāmati wa-lā yuzakkīhim wa-lahum ʿadhābun ʾalīmun

Those who sell Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a paltry gain— there shall be no share for them in the Hereafter and Allah will not speak to them nor will He [so much as] look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and there is a painful punishment for them.

하나님의 말씀과 그들의 신앙을 팔아 하찮은 대가를 얻은 그들은 내세에서 아무것도 얻지 못할 것이라. 하나님은 그들에게 아무 말씀도 하지 않으시며 부활의 날 그들에게 눈길도 주지 아니하시며 그들을 속죄하여 주지도 아니하시니 그들에게는 참혹한 징벌이 있을 뿐이라.

 

78) وَإِنَّ مِنهُم لَفَريقًا يَلوونَ أَلسِنَتَهُم بِالكِتابِ لِتَحسَبوهُ مِنَ الكِتابِ وَما هُوَ مِنَ الكِتابِ وَيَقولونَ

هُوَ مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ وَما هُوَ مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ وَيَقولونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الكَذِبَ وَهُم يَعلَمونَ

wa-ʾinna minhum la-farīqan yalwūna ʾalsinatahum bi-l-kitābi li-taḥsabūhu mina l-kitābi wa-mā huwa mina l-kitābi wa-yaqūlūna huwa min ʿindi llāhi wa-mā huwa min ʿindi llāhi wa-yaqūlūna ʿalā llāhi l-kadhiba wa-hum yaʿlamūna

There is indeed a group of them who twist their tongues to mimic the Book, that you may suppose that it is from the Book, though it is not from the Book, and they say, ‘It is from Allah,’ though it is not from Allah, and they attribute lies to Allah, and they know [it].

그들 중에는 그들의 혀로 그 성서를 왜곡하여 그것이 성서의 일부라고 너희들로 하여금 믿게 하려는 무리가 있으나 그것은 성서의 일부가 아니라. 그들은 또 그것은 하나님으로부터 온 것이라고 말하나 그것은 하나님으로부터 온 것이 아니거늘 그들은 잘 알고 있으면서 하나님에 대해 거짓말을 하더라.

 

79) ما كانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤتِيَهُ اللَّهُ الكِتابَ وَالحُكمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقولَ لِلنّاسِ كونوا عِبادًا لي مِن دونِ

اللَّهِ وَلٰكِن كونوا رَبّانِيّينَ بِما كُنتُم تُعَلِّمونَ الكِتابَ وَبِما كُنتُم تَدرُسونَ

mā kāna li-basharin ʾan yuʾtiyahu llāhu l-kitāba wa-l-ḥukma wa-n-nubuwwata thumma yaqūla li-n-nāsi kūnū ʿibādan lī min dūni llāhi wa-lākin kūnū rabbāniyyīna bi-mā kuntum tuʿallimūna l-kitāba wa-bi-mā kuntum tadrusūna

It does not behoove any human that Allah should give him the Book, judgement and prophethood, and then he should say to the people, ‘Be my servants instead of Allah.’ Rather [he would say], ‘Be a godly people, because of your teaching the Book and because of your studying it.’

하나님으로부터 그 성서와 지혜와 예언자의 직분을 부여받은 한 인간이 백성들에게 하나님 대신 나를 경배하라 하지 아니하고 오히려 학자가 되어 성서를 가르치고 연구하라고 하더라.

 

80) وَلَا يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَن تَتَّخِذُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ أَرْبَابًا ۗ أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِٱلْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

wa-lā yaʾmurakum ʾan tattakhidhū l-malāʾikata wa-n-nabiyyīna ʾarbāban ʾa-yaʾmurukum bi-l-kufri baʿda ʾidh ʾantum muslimūna

And he would not command you to take the angels and the prophets for lords. Would he call you to unfaith after you have been muslims?

너희에게 천사들이나 예언자들을 하나님 섬기는 것과 같이 경배하지 말라 했거늘, 무슬림이 된 너희로 하여 불신하라고 명령했단 말이뇨?

 

81) وَإِذ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ ميثاقَ النَّبِيّينَ لَما آتَيتُكُم مِن كِتابٍ وَحِكمَةٍ ثُمَّ جاءَكُم رَسولٌ مُصَدِّقٌ لِما

مَعَكُم لَتُؤمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُ ۚ قالَ أَأَقرَرتُم وَأَخَذتُم عَلىٰ ذٰلِكُم إِصري ۖ قالوا أَقرَرنا ۚ قالَ فَاشهَدوا

وَأَنا مَعَكُم مِنَ الشّاهِدينَ

wa-ʾidh ʾakhadha llāhu mīthāqa n-nabiyyīna la-mā ʾātaytukum min kitābin wa-ḥikmatin thumma jāʾakum rasūlun muṣaddiqun li-mā maʿakum la-tuʾminunna bihī wa-la-tanṣurunnahū qāla ʾa-ʾaqrartum wa-ʾakhadhtum ʿalā dhālikum ʾiṣrī qālū ʾaqrarnā qāla fa-shhadū wa-ʾana maʿakum mina sh-shāhidīna

When Allah took a compact concerning the prophets, [He said,] ‘Inasmuch as I have given you of the Book and wisdom, should an apostle come to you thereafter confirming what is with you, you shall believe in him and help him.’ He said, ‘Do you pledge and accept My covenant on this condition?’ They said, ‘We pledge.’ He said, ‘Then be witnesses, and I am also among the witnesses along with you.’

하나님이 예언자들과 성약을 하사 성서와 지혜를 주셨노라. 그런 후 ‘한 선지자가 진리와 함께 너희에게 오나니 그를 믿고 그를 도울 것이라. 이에 확신하느뇨? 너희들에 내린 나의 성약을 지키느뇨?’ 그들이 대답하여 가로되, ‘확신하나이다. 그러면 증언하라. 내가 증인으로써 너희와 함께 있을 것이라.’

 

(82) فَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ

fa-man tawallā baʿda dhālika fa-ʾulāʾika humu l-fāsiqūna

Then whoever turns away after that —it is they who are the transgressors.

그런 후 이를 배반하는 자 있다면 그들은 이단자들이라.

 

83) أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ ٱللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًۭا وَكَرْهًۭا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ

 ʾa-fa-ghayra dīni llāhi yabghūna wa-lahū ʾaslama man fī s-samāwāti wa-l-ʾarḍi ṭawʿan wa-karhan wa-ʾilayhi yurjaʿūna

Do they, then, seek a religion other than Allah’s, while to Him submits whoever there is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be brought back?

그들은 하나님이 종교 외에 다른 것을 추구한단 말이뇨? 천지의 만물은 싫든 좋든 하나님께로 귀속되니라.

 

84) قُل آمَنّا بِاللَّهِ وَما أُنزِلَ عَلَينا وَما أُنزِلَ عَلىٰ إِبراهيمَ وَإِسماعيلَ وَإِسحاقَ وَيَعقوبَ وَالأَسباطِ وَما

أوتِيَ موسىٰ وَعيسىٰ وَالنَّبِيّونَ مِن رَبِّهِم لا نُفَرِّقُ بَينَ أَحَدٍ مِنهُم وَنَحنُ لَهُ مُسلِمونَ

qul ʾāmannā bi-llāhi wa-mā ʾunzila ʿalaynā wa-mā ʾunzila ʿalā ʾibrāhīma wa-ʾismāʿīla wa-ʾisḥāqa wa-yaʿqūba wa-l-ʾasbāṭi wa-mā ʾūtiya mūsā wa-ʿīsā wa-n-nabiyyūna min rabbihim lā nufarriqu bayna ʾaḥadin minhum wa-naḥnu lahū muslimūna

Say, ‘We have faith in Allah, and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus were given, and the prophets, from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit.’

‘우리는 하나님을 믿고 우리 에게 내려진 계시와 아브라함과 이스마엘과 이삭과 야곱과 그 자손들에게 내려진 율법을 믿으며 모세와 예수와 예언자들에게 내려진 율법을 믿으며 예언자들을 구별하지 아니하며 하나님만을 믿는다.’ 말하라.

 

85) وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ دِينًۭا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

wa-man yabtaghi ghayra l-ʾislāmi dīnan fa-lan yuqbala minhu wa-huwa fī l-ʾākhirati mina l-khāsirīna

Should anyone follow a religion other than Islam, it shall never be accepted from him, and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter.

이슬람 외에 다른 종교를 추구하는 자, 결코 수락되지 않을 것이니 내세에서 패망자 가운데 있게 되리라.

 

86) كَيفَ يَهدِي اللَّهُ قَومًا كَفَروا بَعدَ إيمانِهِم وَشَهِدوا أَنَّ الرَّسولَ حَقٌّ وَجاءَهُمُ البَيِّناتُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ لا

يَهدِي القَومَ الظّالِمينَ

kayfa yahdī llāhu qawman kafarū baʿda ʾīmānihim wa-shahidū ʾanna r-rasūla ḥaqqun wa-jāʾahumu l-bayyinātu wa-llāhu lā yahdī l-qawma ẓ-ẓālimīna

How shall Allah guide a people who have disbelieved after their faith and [after] bearing witness that the Apostle is true, and [after] manifest proofs had come to them? Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.

믿음을 가진 후 선지자가 그들에게 증인으로 오시고 또한 그들에게 분명한 예증인들이 있었는데도 이것을 불신하는 백성이 있다면 어떻게 하나님께서 이들을 인도하겠느뇨? 하나님은 우매한 백성들을 인도하지 아니하심이라.

 

87) أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ

 ʾulāʾika jazāʾuhum ʾanna ʿalayhim laʿnata llāhi wa-l-malāʾikati wa-n-nāsi ʾajmaʿīna

Their requital is that there shall be upon them the curse of Allah, the angels, and all mankind.

그들에 대한 보상은 하나님과 천사들과 모든 백성들의 저주가 있을 뿐이라.

 

88) خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

khālidīna fīhā lā yukhaffafu ʿanhumu l-ʿadhābu wa-lā hum yunẓarūna

They will remain in it [forever], and their punishment shall not be lightened, nor will they be granted any respite,

그들은 그 저주 속에서 영생할 것이요 징벌이 감소되지 아니하며 고통이 일시도 모면되지 않을 것이라.

 

89) إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ

 ʾillā lladhīna tābū min baʿdi dhālika wa-ʾaṣlaḥū fa-ʾinna llāha ghafūrun raḥīmun

except such as repent after that and make amends, for Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

그러나 회개하고 개선하는 자에게는 하나님의 관용과 자비가 있을 것이며,

 

90) إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱزْدَادُوا۟ كُفْرًۭا لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلضَّآلُّونَ

 ʾinna lladhīna kafarū baʿda ʾīmānihim thumma zdādū kufran lan tuqbala tawbatuhum wa-ʾulāʾika humu ḍ-ḍāllūna

Indeed those who turn faithless after their faith, and then advance in faithlessness, their repentance will never be accepted, and it is they who are the astray.

믿음을 가진 후 배신을 하고 배신에 배신을 일삼는 자는 그들의 회개가 수용되지 않나니 그들은 길을 잃은 방황자가 될 것이라.

 

91) إِنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا وَماتوا وَهُم كُفّارٌ فَلَن يُقبَلَ مِن أَحَدِهِم مِلءُ الأَرضِ ذَهَبًا وَلَوِ افتَدىٰ بِهِ ۗ

أُولٰئِكَ لَهُم عَذابٌ أَليمٌ وَما لَهُم مِن ناصِرينَ

 ʾinna lladhīna kafarū wa-mātū wa-hum kuffārun fa-lan yuqbala min ʾaḥadihim milʾu l-ʾarḍi dhahaban wa-lawi ftadā bihī ʾulāʾika lahum ʿadhābun ʾalīmun wa-mā lahum min nāṣirīna

Indeed those who turn faithless, and die while they are faithless, a world of gold will not be accepted from any of them should he offer it for ransom. For such there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.

하나님을 불신하고 죽은 자는 금으로 가득찬 지구를 보상으로 바친다 하더라도 그것은 수락되지 않을 것이라. 그들에게는 고통스러운 벌이 있을 것이며 또한 그들에게는 한 명의 원조자도 없을 것이라.

 

92) لَن تَنَالُوا۟ ٱلْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌۭ

lan tanālū l-birra ḥattā tunfiqū mimmā tuḥibbūna wa-mā tunfiqū min shayʾin fa-ʾinna llāha bihī ʿalīmun

You will never attain piety until you spend out of what you hold dear, and whatever you may spend of anything, Allah indeed knows it.

너희가 좋아하는 것으로 자 선을 베풀 때 너희는 진실을 얻을 것이요, 너희가 베푼 자선은 하나님께서 알고 계시니라.

 

93) ۞ كُلُّ الطَّعامِ كانَ حِلًّا لِبَني إِسرائيلَ إِلّا ما حَرَّمَ إِسرائيلُ عَلىٰ نَفسِهِ مِن قَبلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ

التَّوراةُ ۗ قُل فَأتوا بِالتَّوراةِ فَاتلوها إِن كُنتُم صادِقينَ

kullu ṭ-ṭaʿāmi kāna ḥillan li-banī ʾisrāʾīla ʾillā mā ḥarrama ʾisrāʾīlu ʿalā nafsihī min qabli ʾan tunazzala t-tawrātu qul fa-ʾtū bi-t-tawrāti fa-tlūhā ʾin kuntum ṣādiqīna

All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel1 had forbidden himself before the Torah was sent down. Say, ‘Bring the Torah, and read it, should you be truthful.’

구약이 계시되기 이전에는 모든 음식이 이스라엘 자손들에게 허락되어 있었으나 이스라엘 백성들 스스로가 금기한 것이 있었노라. 만일 너희의 주장이 사실이거늘 구약을 내게 가져와 읽어보라고 말하여라.

 

94) فَمَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

fa-mani ftarā ʿalā llāhi l-kadhiba min baʿdi dhālika fa-ʾulāʾika humu ẓ-ẓālimūna

So whoever fabricates a lie against Allah after that —it is they who are the wrongdoers.

그런 후에도 하나님에 대하여 거짓을 조성하는 자 있다면 그들은 우매한 자들이라.

 

95) قُلْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ ۗ فَٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

qul ṣadaqa llāhu fa-ttabiʿū millata ʾibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa-mā kāna mina l-mushrikīna

Say, ‘Allah has spoken the truth; so follow the creed of Abraham, a ḥanīf, and he was not one of the polytheists.

이렇게 말하라. ‘하나님은 진리를 말씀하셨으니 아브라함의 신앙을 추종하라. 그는 불신자의 무리가 아니었노라.’

 

96) إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍۢ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِى بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًۭا وَهُدًۭى لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

 ʾinna ʾawwala baytin wuḍiʿa li-n-nāsi la-lladhī bi-bakkata mubārakan wa-hudan li-l-ʿālamīna

Indeed the first house to be set up for mankind is the one at Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for all nations.

최초의 집이 인류를 위하여 세워졌나니, 이는 축복 받는 박카에 있으며 이는 모든 피조물을 위한 길이라.

 

97) فيهِ آياتٌ بَيِّناتٌ مَقامُ إِبراهيمَ ۖ وَمَن دَخَلَهُ كانَ آمِنًا ۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النّاسِ حِجُّ البَيتِ مَنِ استَطاعَ

إِلَيهِ سَبيلًا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ العالَمينَ

fīhi ʾāyātun bayyinātun maqāmu ʾibrāhīma wa-man dakhalahū kāna ʾāminan wa-li-llāhi ʿalā n-nāsi ḥijju l-bayti mani staṭāʿa ʾilayhi sabīlan wa-man kafara fa-ʾinna llāha ghaniyyun ʿani l-ʿālamīna

In it are manifest signs [and] Abraham’s Station, and whoever enters it shall be secure. And it is the duty of mankind toward Allah to make pilgrimage to the House —for those who can afford the journey to it- and should anyone renege [on his obligation], Allah is indeed without need of the creatures.

그곳에는 예증으로써 아브라함의 장소가 있나니 그곳에 들어간 자는 누구든 안전할 것이며, 능력이 있는 백성에게는 순례를 의무로 하셨노라. 그러나 믿음을 거부한 자에게 하나님께서는 만물의 절대자임을 보여주실 것이라.

 

98) قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَ

qul yā-ʾahla l-kitābi li-ma takfurūna bi-ʾāyāti llāhi wa-llāhu shahīdun ʿalā mā taʿmalūna

Say, ‘O People of the Book! Why do you defy the signs of Allah, while Allah is witness to what you do?’

‘성서의 백성들이여! 왜 하나님의 계시를 불신하느뇨? 하나님은 너희가 알고 있는 모든 것을 알고 계시니라.’

 

99) قُل يا أَهلَ الكِتابِ لِمَ تَصُدّونَ عَن سَبيلِ اللَّهِ مَن آمَنَ تَبغونَها عِوَجًا وَأَنتُم شُهَداءُ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ

بِغافِلٍ عَمّا تَعمَلونَ

qul yā-ʾahla l-kitābi li-ma taṣuddūna ʿan sabīli llāhi man ʾāmana tabghūnahā ʿiwajan wa-ʾantum shuhadāʾu wa-mā llāhu bi-ghāfilin ʿammā taʿmalūna

Say, ‘O People of the Book! why do you bar the faithful from the way of Allah, seeking to make it crooked, while you are witnesses [to its truthfulness]? And Allah is not oblivious of what you do.’

‘성서의 백성들이여! 하나님의 길을 걷고 있는 신앙인들을 왜 방해하며 왜곡하려 하느뇨? 하나님께서는 너희가 알고 있는 것을 모르는 분이 아니라는 것을 너희는 알고 있지 않느뇨?

 

100) يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ فَرِيقًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كَٰفِرِينَ

yā-ʾayyuhā lladhīna ʾāmanū ʾin tuṭīʿū farīqan mina lladhīna ʾūtū l-kitāba yaruddūkum baʿda ʾīmānikum kāfirīna

O you who have faith, if you obey a part of those who were given the Book, they will turn you back, after your faith, into faithless ones.

믿는 자들이여! 만일 너희가성서의 백성들 가운데 한 분파에 귀를 기울인다면 그들은 너희의 신앙을 불신자로 만들 것이라.

 

101) وَكَيفَ تَكفُرونَ وَأَنتُم تُتلىٰ عَلَيكُم آياتُ اللَّهِ وَفيكُم رَسولُهُ ۗ وَمَن يَعتَصِم بِاللَّهِ فَقَد هُدِيَ إِلىٰ

صِراطٍ مُستَقيمٍ

wa-kayfa takfurūna wa-ʾantum tutlā ʿalaykum ʾāyātu llāhi wa-fīkum rasūluhū wa-man yaʿtaṣim bi-llāhi fa-qad hudiya ʾilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin

And how would you be faithless while the signs of Allah are recited to you and His Apostle is in your midst? And whoever takes recourse in Allah is certainly guided to a straight path.

어떻게 불신한단 말이뇨? 하나님의 계시가 너희에게 낭송될 때 너희의 심중에 하나님의 선지자가 있지 않더뇨? 하나님을 따르는 자는 광명의 길로 인도되리라.

 

102) يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِۦ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

yā-ʾayyuhā lladhīna ʾāmanū ttaqū llāha ḥaqqa tuqātihī wa-lā tamūtunna ʾillā wa-ʾantum muslimūna

O you who have faith! Be wary of Allah with the wariness due to Him and do not die except as muslims.

믿는 자들이여! 하나님을 두려워하라. 그리고 무슬림으로써 임종하라.

 

103) وَاعتَصِموا بِحَبلِ اللَّهِ جَميعًا وَلا تَفَرَّقوا ۚ وَاذكُروا نِعمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيكُم إِذ كُنتُم أَعداءً فَأَلَّفَ بَينَ

قُلوبِكُم فَأَصبَحتُم بِنِعمَتِهِ إِخوانًا وَكُنتُم عَلىٰ شَفا حُفرَةٍ مِنَ النّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِنها ۗ كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ

اللَّهُ لَكُم آياتِهِ لَعَلَّكُم تَهتَدونَ

wa-ʿtaṣimū bi-ḥabli llāhi jamīʿan wa-lā tafarraqū wa-dhkurū niʿmata llāhi ʿalaykum ʾidh kuntum ʾaʿdāʾan fa-ʾallafa bayna qulūbikum fa-ʾaṣbaḥtum bi-niʿmatihī ʾikhwānan wa-kuntum ʿalā shafā ḥufratin mina n-nāri fa-ʾanqadhakum minhā ka-dhālika yubayyinu llāhu lakum ʾāyātihī laʿallakum tahtadūna

Hold fast, all together, to Allah’s cord, and do not be divided [into sects]. And remember Allah’s blessing upon you when you were enemies, then He brought your hearts together, so you became brothers with His blessing. And you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, whereat He saved you from it. Thus does Allah clarify His signs for you so that you may be guided.

모두가 하나님의 동아줄을 붙잡으라. 그리고 분열하지 말라. 하나님이 베푼 은혜에 감사하라. 너희가 서로 적이었다면 하나님은 사랑으로 너희 마음들이 하나 되어 한 형제가 되게 하여 주실 것이며 만일 너희가 지옥의 문턱에 있었다면 그로부터 구원하여 주실 것이라. 그렇게 하나님은 너희에게 계시를 밝히셨나니 너희는 광명으로 인도되리라.

 

104) وَلتَكُن مِنكُم أُمَّةٌ يَدعونَ إِلَى الخَيرِ وَيَأمُرونَ بِالمَعروفِ وَيَنهَونَ عَنِ المُنكَرِ ۚ وَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ

المُفلِحونَ

wa-l-takun minkum ʾummatun yadʿūna ʾilā l-khayri wa-yaʾmurūna bi-l-maʿrūfi wa-yanhawna ʿani l-munkari wa-ʾulāʾika humu l-mufliḥūna

There has to be a nation among you summoning to the good, bidding what is right, and forbidding what is wrong. It is they who are the felicitous.

그럼으로 너희는 한 공동체가 되어 선을 촉구하고 계율을 지키며 악을 배제하라. 실로 그들이 번성하는 자들이라.

 

105) وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ ۚ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ

wa-lā takūnū ka-lladhīna tafarraqū wa-khtalafū min baʿdi mā jāʾahumu l-bayyinātu wa-ʾulāʾika lahum ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmun

Do not be like those who became divided [into sects] and differed after manifest signs had come to them. For such there will be a great punishment,

계시가 그들에게 있었는데도 분열하며 분쟁을 일삼는 자가 되지 말라. 그들에게는 무서운 재앙이 있을 것이라.

 

106) يَومَ تَبيَضُّ وُجوهٌ وَتَسوَدُّ وُجوهٌ ۚ فَأَمَّا الَّذينَ اسوَدَّت وُجوهُهُم أَكَفَرتُم بَعدَ إيمانِكُم فَذوقُوا

العَذابَ بِما كُنتُم تَكفُرونَ

yawma tabyaḍḍu wujūhun wa-taswaddu wujūhun fa-ʾammā lladhīna swaddat wujūhuhum ʾa-kafartum baʿda ʾīmānikum fa-dhūqū l-ʿadhāba bi-mā kuntum takfurūna

on the day when [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black. As for those whose faces turn black [it will be said to them], ‘Did you disbelieve after your faith? So taste the punishment because of what you used to disbelieve.’

심판의 날 하얗게 되는 사람과 검게 되는 사람이 있나니, 얼굴이 검게 되는 자들은 믿음을 가진 후 배반한 자로 이에 대한 재앙을 맛볼 것이며,

 

107) وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱبْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِى رَحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

wa-ʾammā lladhīna byaḍḍat wujūhuhum fa-fī raḥmati llāhi hum fīhā khālidūna

But as for those whose faces become white, they shall dwell in Allah’s mercy, and they will remain in it [forever].

얼굴이 하얗게 되는 자들은 하나님의 자비가운데 들게 되어 그 곳에서 영생하리라.

 

108) تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًۭا لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

tilka ʾāyātu llāhi natlūhā ʿalayka bi-l-ḥaqqi wa-mā llāhu yurīdu ẓulman li-l-ʿālamīna

These are the signs of Allah which We recite to you in truth, and Allah does not desire any wrong for the creatures.

이것이 하나님의 계시이거, 늘 그분은 그것을 그대에게 진리로써 낭송하도다. 하나님은 그의 피조물 모두에게 공정하시니라.

 

109) وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ

wa-li-llāhi mā fī s-samāwāti wa-mā fī l-ʾarḍi wa-ʾilā llāhi turjaʿu l-ʾumūru

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and to Allah all matters are returned.

천지의 모든 것이 하나님 의것이니 모든 것이 하나님께 귀속 되니라.

 

110) كُنتُم خَيرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخرِجَت لِلنّاسِ تَأمُرونَ بِالمَعروفِ وَتَنهَونَ عَنِ المُنكَرِ وَتُؤمِنونَ بِاللَّهِ ۗ وَلَو آمَنَ

أَهلُ الكِتابِ لَكانَ خَيرًا لَهُم ۚ مِنهُمُ المُؤمِنونَ وَأَكثَرُهُمُ الفاسِقونَ

kuntum khayra ʾummatin ʾukhrijat li-n-nāsi taʾmurū#363;na bi-l-maʿrūfi wa-tanhawna ʿani l-munkari wa-tuʾminūna bi-l-llāhi wa-law ʾāmana ʾahlu l-kitābi la-kāna khayran lahum minhumu l-muʾminūna wa-ʾaktharuhumu l-fāsiqūna

You are the best nation [ever] brought forth for mankind: you bid what is right and forbid what is wrong, and have faith in Allah. And if the People of the Book had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them [some] are faithful, but most of them are transgressors.

너희는 가장 좋은 공동체의 백성이라. 계율을 지키고 악을 배제할 것이며 하나님을 믿으라. 만일 성서의 백성들이 믿음을 가졌더라면 그들에게 축복이 더했으리라. 그들 가운데는 진실한 믿음을 가진 자도 있었지만 그들 대부분은 사악한 자들이더라.

 

111) لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًۭى ۖ وَإِن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ

lan yaḍurrūkum ʾillā ʾadhan wa-ʾin yuqātilūkum yuwallūkumu l-ʾadbāra thumma lā yunṣarūna

They will never do you any harm, except for some hurt; and if they fight you, they will turn their backs [to flee], then they will not be helped.

그들은 하찮은 것 외에는 너희를 해치지 못하리라. 만일 그들이 너희들에게 싸우려 했다 하더라도 그들은 뒤돌아설 것이니 그들은 어떠한 도움도 받을 수 없노라.

 

112) ضُرِبَت عَلَيهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ أَينَ ما ثُقِفوا إِلّا بِحَبلٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَحَبلٍ مِنَ النّاسِ وَباءوا بِغَضَبٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ

وَضُرِبَت عَلَيهِمُ المَسكَنَةُ ۚ ذٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُم كانوا يَكفُرونَ بِآياتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقتُلونَ الأَنبِياءَ بِغَيرِ حَقٍّ ۚ

ذٰلِكَ بِما عَصَوا وَكانوا يَعتَدونَ

ḍuribat ʿalayhimu dh-dhillatu ʾayna mā thuqifū ʾillā bi-ḥablin mina llāhi wa-ḥablin mina n-nāsi wa-bāʾū bi-ghaḍabin mina llāhi wa-ḍuribat ʿalayhimu l-maskanatu dhālika bi-ʾannahum kānū yakfurūna bi-ʾāyāti llāhi wa-yaqtulūna l-ʾanbiyāʾa bi-ghayri ḥaqqin dhālika bi-mā ʿaṣaw wa-kānū yaʿtadūna

Abasement has been stamped upon them wherever they are confronted, except for an asylum from Allah and an asylum from the people; and they earned the wrath of Allah, and poverty was stamped upon them. That, because they would defy the signs of Allah and kill the prophets unjustly. That, because they would disobey and used to commit transgression.

그들이 어느 곳에서 발견되던 그들 위에 치욕스러움이 내려지리라. 그러나 하나님의 동아줄이나 사람들의 보호 속에 있는 자들은 제외라. 그들은 스스로가 하나님의 분노를 초래했으니 그들 위에 빈곤함이 내려지도다. 이것은 그들이 하나님의 말씀을 불신하고 예언자들을 부당하게 살해하였으며 그들이 하나님의 명령을 거역한 대가라.

 

113) ۞ لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءًۭ ۗ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أُمَّةٌۭ قَآئِمَةٌۭ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ

laysū sawāʾan min ʾahli l-kitābi ʾummatun qāʾimatun yatlūna ʾāyāti llāhi ʾānāʾa l-layli wa-hum yasjudūna

Yet they are not all alike. Among the People of the Book is an upright nation; they recite Allah’s signs in the watches of the night and prostrate.

그들 모두가 똑같은 것이 아니거늘, 성서의 백성들 가운데는 충실한 무리가 있어 하나님의 말씀을 낭송하며 밤을 지새우는 참 신앙인도 있노라.

 

114) يُؤمِنونَ بِاللَّهِ وَاليَومِ الآخِرِ وَيَأمُرونَ بِالمَعروفِ وَيَنهَونَ عَنِ المُنكَرِ وَيُسارِعونَ فِي الخَيراتِ

وَأُولٰئِكَ مِنَ الصّالِحينَ

yuʾminūna bi-llāhi wa-l-yawmi l-ʾākhiri wa-yaʾmurūna bi-l-maʿrūfi wa-yanhawna ʿani l-munkari wa-yusāriʿūna fī l-khayrāti wa-ʾulāʾika mina ṣ-ṣāliḥīna

They have faith in Allah and the Last Day, and bid what is right and forbid what is wrong, and are active in [performing] good deeds. They are among the righteous.

그들은 하나님과 최후의 날을 믿으며 선을 실천하고 추악함을 피하며 선행에 경쟁을 하나니 그들은 의로운 사람들 계열에 있더라.

 

115) وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

wa-mā yafʿalū min khayrin fa-lan yukfarūhu wa-llāhu ʿalīmun bi-l-muttaqīna

And whatever good they do, they will not go unappreciated for it, and Allah knows best the Godwary.

그들이 행하는 선행가운데서 어느 무엇도 거절되는 것이 없나니, 하나님은 정의를 행하는 자들을 알고 계시니라.

 

116) إِنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا لَن تُغنِيَ عَنهُم أَموالُهُم وَلا أَولادُهُم مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيئًا ۖ وَأُولٰئِكَ أَصحابُ النّارِ ۚ

هُم فيها خالِدونَ

 ʾinna lladhīna kafarū lan tughniya ʿanhum ʾamwāluhum wa-lā ʾawlāduhum mina llāhi shayʾan wa-ʾulāʾika ʾaṣḥābu n-nāri hum fīhā khālidūna

As for the faithless, neither their wealth nor their children will avail them anything against Allah. They shall be the inmates of the Fire, and they shall remain in it [forever].

실로 믿음을 불신하는 자들에게 재산과 자손들이 있다 하더라도 그것은 하나님에 대항하여 아무런 효용이 없거늘 그들은 불지옥의 주인이 되어 그곳에서 영생하리라.

 

117) مَثَلُ ما يُنفِقونَ في هٰذِهِ الحَياةِ الدُّنيا كَمَثَلِ ريحٍ فيها صِرٌّ أَصابَت حَرثَ قَومٍ ظَلَموا أَنفُسَهُم

فَأَهلَكَتهُ ۚ وَما ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلٰكِن أَنفُسَهُم يَظلِمونَ

mathalu mā yunfiqūna fī hādhihi l-ḥayāti d-dunyā ka-mathali rīḥin fīhā ṣirrun ʾaṣābat ḥartha qawmin ẓalamū ʾanfusahum fa-ʾahlakathu wa-mā ẓalamahumu llāhu wa-lākin ʾanfusahum yaẓlimūna

The parable of what they spend in the life of this world is that of a cold wind that strikes the tillage of a people who wronged themselves, destroying it. Allah does not wrong them, but they wrong themselves.

그들이 현세에서 베푼 것은 마치 살을 에는 추위를 실은 바람이 자신들을 우롱한 백성들의 농작물을 망쳐 놓은 것과 같도다. 하나님께서 그들을 우롱한 것이 아니라 그들이 스스로를 우롱한 것이라.

 

118) يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ آمَنوا لا تَتَّخِذوا بِطانَةً مِن دونِكُم لا يَألونَكُم خَبالًا وَدّوا ما عَنِتُّم قَد بَدَتِ

البَغضاءُ مِن أَفواهِهِم وَما تُخفي صُدورُهُم أَكبَرُ ۚ قَد بَيَّنّا لَكُمُ الآياتِ ۖ إِن كُنتُم تَعقِلونَ

yā-ʾayyuhā lladhīna ʾāmanū lā tattakhidhū biṭānatan min dūnikum lā yaʾlūnakum khabālan waddū mā ʿanittum qad badati l-baghḍāʾu min ʾafwāhihim wa-mā tukhfī ṣudūruhum ʾakbaru qad bayyannā lakumu l-ʾāyāti ʾin kuntum taʿqilūna

O you who have faith! Do not take your confidants from others than yourselves; they will spare nothing to ruin you. They are eager to see you in distress. Hatred has already shown itself from their mouths, and what their breasts hide [within] is yet worse. We have certainly made the signs clear for you, should you apply reason.

믿는 자들이여! 불신자들을 친구로 택하지 말라. 그들은 너희를 해치기 위해 노력을 아끼지 아니하며 그들은 단지 너희가 파괴되기를 바랄 뿐이라. 그들의 입들에서 증오가 발산되며 그들의 마음은 더욱 사악하도다. 하나님은 너희에게 그 말씀을 설명했나니 지혜가 있다면 알게 될 것이라.

 

119) ها أَنتُم أُولاءِ تُحِبّونَهُم وَلا يُحِبّونَكُم وَتُؤمِنونَ بِالكِتابِ كُلِّهِ وَإِذا لَقوكُم قالوا آمَنّا وَإِذا خَلَوا

عَضّوا عَلَيكُمُ الأَنامِلَ مِنَ الغَيظِ ۚ قُل موتوا بِغَيظِكُم ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَليمٌ بِذاتِ الصُّدورِ

hā-ʾantum ʾulāʾi tuḥibbūnahum wa-lā yuḥibbūnakum wa-tuʾminūna bi-l-kitābi kullihī wa-ʾidhā laqūkum qālū ʾāmannā wa-ʾidhā khalaw ʿaḍḍū ʿalaykumu l-ʾanāmila mina l-ghayẓi qul mūtū bi-ghayẓikum ʾinna llāha ʿalīmun bi-dhāti ṣ-ṣudūri

Ah! You are the ones who bear love towards them, while they do not love you, though you believe in all the Books; and when they meet you, they say, ‘We believe,’ but when they are alone, they bite their fingertips out of rage at you. Say, ‘Die of your rage!’ Indeed Allah knows best what is in the breasts.

너희는 그들을 사랑하느뇨? 그러나 너희가 그들의 모든 성서를 믿는데도 그들은 너희를 사랑하지 않도다. 그들이 너희를 만날 때면 우리는 믿는다고 말하나 홀로 있을 때 그들은 너희에게 그들의 손가락을 깨물며 분노하니 일러 가로되, ‘너희의 노여움으로 멸망할 것이라.’ 실로 하나님은 마음의 비밀들을 다 알고 계시니라.

 

120) إِن تَمسَسكُم حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤهُم وَإِن تُصِبكُم سَيِّئَةٌ يَفرَحوا بِها ۖ وَإِن تَصبِروا وَتَتَّقوا لا يَضُرُّكُم

كَيدُهُم شَيئًا ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِما يَعمَلونَ مُحيطٌ

 ʾin tamsaskum ḥasanatun tasuʾhum wa-ʾin tuṣibkum sayyiʾatun yafraḥū bihā wa-ʾin taṣbirū wa-tattaqū lā yaḍurrukum kayduhum shayʾan ʾinna llāha bi-mā yaʿmalūna muḥīṭun

If some good should befall you, it upsets them, but if some ill should befall you, they rejoice at it. Yet if you are patient and Godwary, their guile will not harm you in any way. Indeed Allah comprehends what they do.

어떤 행운이 너희에게 있을 때 이것은 그들을 슬프게 하며, 어떤 불행이 너희들에게 있을 때 그 들은 기뻐하나니 너희는 항상 인내하고 정의에 살라. 그들의 교활은 결코 너희를 해치지 못하리라.

 

121) وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

wa-ʾidh ghadawta min ʾahlika tubawwiʾu l-muʾminīna maqāʿida li-l-qitāli wa-llāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun

When you left your family at dawn to settle the faithful in their positions for battle -and Allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.

그대가 이른 아침 가족을 떠나 전쟁터에 나가 신도들을 배치하며 적과 싸웠던 것을 상기하라. 하나님은 들으심과 아심으로 충만하시니라.

 

122) إِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا ۗ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

 ʾidh hammat ṭāʾifatāni minkum ʾan tafshalā wa-llāhu waliyyuhumā wa-ʿalā llāhi fa-l-yatawakkali l-muʾminūna

When two groups among you were about to lose courage, —though Allah is their guardian, and in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.

너희 가운데 두 무리가 불안해 할 때 하나님은 그들의 보호자가 되시었나니 믿는 사람들은 그들 자신들을 하나님께 위탁하노라.

 

123) وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍۢ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌۭ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

wa-la-qad naṣarakumu llāhu bi-badrin wa-ʾantum ʾadhillatun fa-ttaqū llāha laʿallakum tashkurūna

Certainly Allah helped you at Badr, when you were abased [in the enemy’s eyes]. So be wary of Allah so that you may give thanks.

하나님은 바드르 전투에서 너희가 소수인데도 승리토록 하였노라. 그럼으로 하나님을 두려워하고 감사하라.

 

124) إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَٰثَةِ ءَالَٰفٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ

 ʾidh taqūlu li-l-muʾminīna ʾa-lan yakfiyakum ʾan yumiddakum rabbukum bi-thalāthati ʾālāfin mina l-malāʾikati munzalīna

When you were saying to the faithful, ‘Is it not enough for you that your Lord should aid you with three thousand angels sent down?’

너희 동료들에게 말한 것을 상기하라. ‘너의 주님께서 삼천 명의 천사들을 보내 너희들을 승리케 했던 것이 너희에게 흡족치 않더뇨?’

 

125) بَلىٰ ۚ إِن تَصبِروا وَتَتَّقوا وَيَأتوكُم مِن فَورِهِم هٰذا يُمدِدكُم رَبُّكُم بِخَمسَةِ آلافٍ مِنَ المَلائِكَةِ

مُسَوِّمينَ

balā ʾin taṣbirū wa-tattaqū wa-yaʾtūkum min fawrihim hādhā yumdidkum rabbukum bi-khamsati ʾālāfin mina l-malāʾikati musawwimīna

Yes, if you are steadfast and Godwary, and should they come at you suddenly, your Lord will aid you with five thousand marked angels.

이렇듯 너희가 인내하고 정의에 산다면 적이 갑자기 너희를 공격하더라도 너의 주님께서는 오천 명의 천사들을 보내어 그들을 제압하리라.

 

126) وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِۦ ۗ وَمَا ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ

wa-mā jaʿalahu llāhu ʾillā bushrā lakum wa-li-taṭmaʾinna qulūbukum bihī wa-mā n-naṣru ʾillā min ʿindi llāhi l-ʿazīzi l-ḥakīmi

Allah did not appoint it but as a good news for you, and to reassure with it your hearts, and victory comes only from Allah, the All-mighty, the All-wise,

그리하여 하나님은 너희를 위해 복음을 준비하셨으니 이로 인하여 너희 마음을 평안케 하라 승리는 하나님으로부터만 오나니 그분은 권능과 지혜로 충만하심이라.

 

127) لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَآئِبِينَ

li-yaqṭaʿa ṭarafan mina lladhīna kafarū ʾaw yakbitahum fa-yanqalibū khāʾibīna

that He may cut down a section of the faithless, or subdue them, so that they retreat disappointed.

하나님은 불신자들의 무리를 멸하시거나 그들을 제압하고 그들을 좌절케 하여 돌아가도록 하니라.

 

128) لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ

laysa laka mina l-ʾamri shayʾun ʾaw yatūba ʿalayhim ʾaw yuʿadhdhibahum fa-ʾinnahum ẓālimūna

You have no hand in the matter, whether He accepts their repentance or punishes them, for they are indeed wrongdoers.

하나님이 그들에게 관용을 베풀거나 벌을 주는 것은 그대에 관한 일이 아니며 그들의 죄악으로 인한 것이라.

 

129) وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

wa-li-llāhi mā fī s-samāwāti wa-mā fī l-ʾarḍi yaghfiru li-man yashāʾu wa-yuʿadhdhibu man yashāʾu wa-llāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth: He forgives whomever He wishes and punishes whomever He wishes, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

천지의 모든 것이 하나님에게 귀속하여 있으며 그 분의 뜻에 따라 관용을 베풀거나 그분의 뜻에 따라 벌이 있나니 하나님은 관용과 자비로 충만하심이라.

 

130) يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوا۟ ٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟ أَضْعَٰفًۭا مُّضَٰعَفَةًۭ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

yā-ʾayyuhā lladhīna ʾāmanū lā taʾkulū r-ribā ʾaḍʿāfan muḍāʿafatan wa-ttaqū llāha laʿallakum tufliḥūna

O you who have faith! Do not exact usury, twofold and severalfold, and be wary of Allah so that you may be felicitous.

믿는 신앙인들이여! 이자를 거듭하여 삼키지 말라. 그리고 하나님을 두려워하라. 그러면 너희가 번성하리라.

 

131) وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-ttaqū n-nāra llatī ʾuʿiddat li-l-kāfirīna

And beware of the Fire which has been prepared for the faithless,

불지옥을 두려워하라. 이는 불신자들을 위해 준비된 것이니라.

 

132) وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

wa-ʾaṭīʿū llāha wa-r-rasūla laʿallakum turḥamūna

and obey Allah and the Apostle so that you may be granted [His] mercy.

하나님께 복종하고 선지자를 따르라. 그리하면 너희가 은혜를 받으리니.

 

133) ۞ وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

wa-sāriʿū ʾilā maghfiratin min rabbikum wa-jannatin ʿarḍuhā s-samāwātu wa-l-ʾarḍu ʾuʿiddat li-l-muttaqīna

And hasten towards your Lord’s forgiveness and a paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the Godwary

서둘러 너희 주님께 회개하라. 천국은 하늘과 땅처럼 넓으나 이는 정의에 사는 백성을 위해 준비된 것이라.

 

(134) ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

alladhīna yunfiqūna fī s-sarrāʾi wa-ḍ-ḍarrāʾi wa-l-kāẓimīna l-ghayẓa wa-l-ʿāfīna ʿani n-nāsi wa-llāhu yuḥibbu l-muḥsinīna

-those who spend in ease and adversity, and suppress their anger, and excuse [the faults of] the people, and Allah loves the virtuous;

부유함과 어려움을 가리지 않고 자선을 베풀되 노하지 아니 하며 사람들에게 자비를 베푸는 자는 하나님의 사랑을 받을 자라.

 

135) وَالَّذينَ إِذا فَعَلوا فاحِشَةً أَو ظَلَموا أَنفُسَهُم ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاستَغفَروا لِذُنوبِهِم وَمَن يَغفِرُ الذُّنوبَ إِلَّا

اللَّهُ وَلَم يُصِرّوا عَلىٰ ما فَعَلوا وَهُم يَعلَمونَ

wa-lladhīna ʾidhā faʿalū fāḥishatan ʾaw ẓalamū ʾanfusahum dhakarū llāha fa-staghfarū li-dhunūbihim wa-man yaghfiru dh-dhunūba ʾillā llāhu wa-lam yuṣirrū ʿalā mā faʿalū wa-hum yaʿlamūna

and those who, when they commit an indecent act or wrong themselves, remember Allah, and plead [Allah’s] forgiveness for their sins -and who forgives sins except Allah?- and who do not persist in what they have committed while they know.

잘못을 저질렀거나 어리석은 짓을 했을 때는 하나님을 염원하고 너희의 죄를 회개하라. 하나 외에 누가 너희의 죄를 용서하여 주겠느뇨? 그리고 저질렀던 잘못을 지속하지 말라.

 

136) أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ

 ʾulāʾika jazāʾuhum maghfiratun min rabbihim wa-jannātun tajrī min taḥtihā l-ʾanhāru khālidīna fīhā wa-niʿma ʾajru l-ʿāmilīna

Their reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever]. How excellent is the reward of the workers!

그들에게 보상이 있어 주님의 관용이 있을 것이며, 물이 흐르는 천국이 있어 그곳에서 영생하며, 무한한 은혜가운데 있을 것이라.

 

(137) قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌۭ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

qad khalat min qablikum sunanun fa-sīrū fī l-ʾarḍi fa-nẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mukadhdhibīna

Certain [Divine] precedents have passed before you. So travel over the land and then observe how was the fate of the deniers.

너희 이전에 멸망한 자들의 흔적이 있었거늘, 이 땅위를 여행하며 살펴보라. 진리를 거부한 자들의 종말이 어떤 것인가를 알 것이라.

 

138) هَٰذَا بَيَانٌۭ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًۭى وَمَوْعِظَةٌۭ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ

hādhā bayānun li-n-nāsi wa-hudan wa-mawʿiẓatun li-l-muttaqīna

This is an explanation for mankind, and a guidance and advice for the Godwary.

이것이 인류에게 내린 말씀이며 의롭게 사는 사람들을 위한 복음이요 교훈이라.

 

139) وَلَا تَهِنُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

wa-lā tahinū wa-lā taḥzanū wa-ʾantumu l-ʾaʿlawna ʾin kuntum muʾminīna

Do not weaken or grieve: you shall have the upper hand, should you be faithful.

그럼으로 마음 아파하거나 슬퍼하지 말라. 믿는 신앙인이라면 너희가 승리할 것이라.

 

140) إِن يَمسَسكُم قَرحٌ فَقَد مَسَّ القَومَ قَرحٌ مِثلُهُ ۚ وَتِلكَ الأَيّامُ نُداوِلُها بَينَ النّاسِ وَلِيَعلَمَ اللَّهُ

الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُم شُهَداءَ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لا يُحِبُّ الظّالِمينَ

 ʾin yamsaskum qarḥun fa-qad massa l-qawma qarḥun mithluhū wa-tilka l-ʾayyāmu nudāwiluhā bayna n-nāsi wa-li-yaʿlama llāhu lladhīna ʾāmanū wa-yattakhidha minkum shuhadāʾa wa-llāhu lā yuḥibbu ẓ-ẓālimīna

If a wound afflicts you, a like wound has already afflicted those people; and We make such vicissitudes rotate among mankind, so that Allah may ascertain those who have faith, and that He may take martyrs1 from among you, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers.

너희가 상처를 입었다면 그 백성들도 그만큼 상처를 받았노라. 이것은 하나님이 인간에게 주는 흥망성쇠이거늘, 하나님은 믿는 신앙인들을 알고 계시어 너희 가운데서 순교자들을 택하시도다. 이처럼 하나님은 우매한 자들을 사랑하지 않으시니라.

 

141) وَلِيُمَحِّصَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَمْحَقَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-li-yumaḥḥiṣa llāhu lladhīna ʾāmanū wa-yamḥaqa l-kāfirīna

And so that Allah may purge those who have faith and that He may wipe out the faithless.

이렇게 하여 하나님은 믿음을 가진 자들을 순결케 하사 불신자들은 멸망케 하시니라.

 

142) أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

 ʾam ḥasibtum ʾan tadkhulū l-jannata wa-lammā yaʿlami llāhu lladhīna jāhadū minkum wa-yaʿlama ṣ-ṣābirīna

Do you suppose that you would enter paradise, while Allah has not yet ascertained those of you who have waged jihād and not ascertained the steadfast?

너희가 천국에 들어가리라 생각하느뇨? 하나님께서는 너희 가운데 노력하는 자와 인내하는 자들을 알고 계시니라.

 

143) وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُون

wa-la-qad kuntum tamannawna l-mawta min qabli ʾan talqawhu fa-qad raʾaytumūhu wa-ʾantum tanẓurūna

Certainly you were longing for death before you had encountered it. Then certainly you saw it, as you looked on.

너희가 죽음에 이르기 전에 죽음을 원했을 때가 있었으리라. 이제 너희들은 그것을 너희 눈으로 지켜보리라.

 

144) وَما مُحَمَّدٌ إِلّا رَسولٌ قَد خَلَت مِن قَبلِهِ الرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِن ماتَ أَو قُتِلَ انقَلَبتُم عَلىٰ أَعقابِكُم ۚ

وَمَن يَنقَلِب عَلىٰ عَقِبَيهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيئًا ۗ وَسَيَجزِي اللَّهُ الشّاكِرينَ

wa-mā muḥammadun ʾillā rasūlun qad khalat min qablihi r-rusulu ʾa-fa-ʾin māta ʾaw qutila nqalabtum ʿalā ʾaʿqābikum wa-man yanqalib ʿalā ʿaqibayhi fa-lan yaḍurra llāha shayʾan wa-sa-yajzī llāhu sh-shākirīna

Muḥammad is but an apostle; [other] apostles have passed before him. If he dies or is slain, will you turn back on your heels? Anyone who turns back on his heels will not harm Allah in the least, and soon Allah will reward the grateful.

무함마드는 한 선지자에 불과하며 그 이전 선지자들도 세상을 떠났노라. 만일 그가 죽거나 혹은 살해당한다면 너희는 돌아서겠느뇨? 만약 어느 누가 돌아선다 하더라도 조금도 하나님을 해하지 아니할 것이며 하나님은 감사하는 자들에게 보상을 주실 것이라.

 

145) وَما كانَ لِنَفسٍ أَن تَموتَ إِلّا بِإِذنِ اللَّهِ كِتابًا مُؤَجَّلًا ۗ وَمَن يُرِد ثَوابَ الدُّنيا نُؤتِهِ مِنها وَمَن

يُرِد ثَوابَ الآخِرَةِ نُؤتِهِ مِنها ۚ وَسَنَجزِي الشّاكِرينَ

wa-mā kāna li-nafsin ʾan tamūta ʾillā bi-ʾidhni llāhi kitāban muʾajjalan wa-man yurid thawāba d-dunyā nuʾtihī minhā wa-man yurid thawāba l-ʾākhirati nuʾtihī minhā wa-sa-najzī sh-shākirīna

No soul may die except by Allah’s leave, at an appointed time. Whoever desires the reward of this world, We will give him of it; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter, We will give him of it; and soon We will reward the grateful.

어느 누구도 하나님의 허락 없이는 죽지 아니하며 그 기간은 기록되어 있노라. 누구든지 현세의 보상을 원하는 자 있다면 그에게 보상을 줄 것이요, 누구든지 내세의 보상을 원하는 자 있다면, 그에게 보상을 줄 것이며 또 감사하는 자들에게도 보상을 주리라.

 

146) وَكَأَيِّن مِن نَبِيٍّ قاتَلَ مَعَهُ رِبِّيّونَ كَثيرٌ فَما وَهَنوا لِما أَصابَهُم في سَبيلِ اللَّهِ وَما ضَعُفوا وَمَا

استَكانوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصّابِرينَ

wa-ka-ʾayyin min nabiyyin qātala maʿahū ribbiyyūna kathīrun fa-mā wahanū li-mā ʾaṣābahum fī sabīli llāhi wa-mā ḍaʿufū wa-mā stakānū wa-llāhu yuḥibbu ṣ-ṣābirīna

How many a prophet there has been with whom a multitude of godly men fought. They did not falter for what befell them in the way of Allah, neither did they weaken, nor did they abase themselves; and Allah loves the steadfast.

많은 선지자들과 많은 학자들이 하나님의 길에서 성전 하였더라. 그들은 하나님의 길에서 어려운 일에 부딪칠 때도 실망치 않고 허약하지 아니하였으며 항복하지도 아니하였으니, 하나님은 실로 인내하는 자들을 사랑하심이라.

 

147) وَما كانَ قَولَهُم إِلّا أَن قالوا رَبَّنَا اغفِر لَنا ذُنوبَنا وَإِسرافَنا في أَمرِنا وَثَبِّت أَقدامَنا وَانصُرنا عَلَى

القَومِ الكافِرينَ

wa-mā kāna qawlahum ʾillā ʾan qālū rabbanā ghfir lanā dhunūbanā wa-ʾisrāfanā fī ʾamrinā wa-thabbit ʾaqdāmanā wa-nṣurnā ʿalā l-qawmi l-kāfirīna

All that they said was, ‘Our Lord, forgive us our sins, and our excesses in our affairs, and make our feet steady, and help us against the faithless lot.’

그들이 말하는 모든 것은 이러하였노라. ‘주여! 저희의 죄와 과오를 사하여 주옵소서. 저희의 발길을 고정시켜 주옵시고, 불신자들의 무리로부터 승리하게 하여 주옵소서.’

 

148) فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

fa-ʾātāhumu llāhu thawāba d-dunyā wa-ḥusna thawābi l-ʾākhirati wa-llāhu yuḥibbu l-muḥsinīna

So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the fair reward of the Hereafter; and Allah loves the virtuous.

그리하매 하나님께서 그들에게 현세의 보상과 내세의 보상을 주셨나니 하나님은 선을 실천하는 사람들을 사랑하심이라.

 

149) يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَٰسِرِينَ

yā-ʾayyuhā lladhīna ʾāmanū ʾin tuṭīʿū lladhīna kafarū yaruddūkum ʿalā ʾaʿqābikum fa-tanqalibū khāsirīna

O you who have faith! If you obey the faithless, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will become losers.

믿는 신앙인들이여! 너희가 불신자들에게 복종한다면 그들은 발꿈치로 너희를 돌려보내리니 너희는 믿음에서 벗어나 손실을 보게 되리라.

 

150) بَلِ ٱللَّهُ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلنَّٰصِرِينَ

bali llāhu mawlākum wa-huwa khayru n-nāṣirīna

Rather Allah is your Master, and He is the best of helpers.

그러나 하나님만이 너희를 위한 보호자요 가장 훌륭한 원조자이시라.

 

151) سَنُلقي في قُلوبِ الَّذينَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعبَ بِما أَشرَكوا بِاللَّهِ ما لَم يُنَزِّل بِهِ سُلطانًا ۖ وَمَأواهُمُ النّارُ ۚ

وَبِئسَ مَثوَى الظّالِمينَ

sa-nulqī fī qulūbi lladhīna kafarū r-ruʿba bi-mā ʾashrakū bi-llāhi mā lam yunazzil bihī sulṭānan wa-maʾwāhumu n-nāru wa-biʾsa mathwā ẓ-ẓālimīna

We shall cast terror into the hearts of the faithless because of their ascribing to Allah partners, for which He has not sent down any authority, and their refuge shall be the Fire, and evil is the [final] abode of the wrongdoers.

하나님은 믿음이 없는 자들의 심중에 공포를 불어 넣으리라. 이들은 아무런 능력도 없는 자들을 하나님과 비유하려 했기 때문이라. 불지옥이 그들의 거주지가 되며 재앙이 우매한 그들에게 있을 것이라.

 

152) وَلَقَد صَدَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ وَعدَهُ إِذ تَحُسّونَهُم بِإِذنِهِ ۖ حَتّىٰ إِذا فَشِلتُم وَتَنازَعتُم فِي الأَمرِ وَعَصَيتُم مِن

بَعدِ ما أَراكُم ما تُحِبّونَ ۚ مِنكُم مَن يُريدُ الدُّنيا وَمِنكُم مَن يُريدُ الآخِرَةَ ۚ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُم عَنهُم

لِيَبتَلِيَكُم ۖ وَلَقَد عَفا عَنكُم ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذو فَضلٍ عَلَى المُؤمِنينَ

wa-la-qad ṣadaqakumu llāhu waʿdahū ʾidh taḥussūnahum bi-ʾidhnihī ḥattā ʾidhā fashiltum wa-tanāzaʿtum fī l-ʾamri wa-ʿaṣaytum min baʿdi mā ʾarākum mā tuḥibbūna minkum man yurīdu d-dunyā wa-minkum man yurīdu l-ʾākhirata thumma ṣarafakum ʿanhum li-yabtaliyakum wa-la-qad ʿafā ʿankum wa-llāhu dhū faḍlin ʿalā l-muʾminīna

Allah certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were slaying them with His leave, until you lost courage, disputed about the matter, and disobeyed after He showed you what you loved. Some of you desire this world, and some of you desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you away from them so that He might test you. Certainly He has excused you, for Allah is gracious to the faithful.

하나님께서 너희에게 약속을 이행하사 너희가 그 분의 권능으로 그들을 전멸하였노라. 그때 너희는 절망에 있었고 질서가 붕괴되었더라. 하나님께서는 너희가 탐내는 것을 주었는데도 선지자의 명령에 복종하지 아니하였노라. 너희 가운데는 현세를 원하는 자가 있었고 또 너희 가운데는 내세를 원하는 자가 있었더라. 그리하여 하나님은 너희를 그들 적으로 부터 자유롭게 하였으니 이는 너희를 시험하기 위함이라. 그 분은 너희를 사하여 주사 믿는 자들에게 충만한 은총을 주시노라.

 

153) ۞ إِذ تُصعِدونَ وَلا تَلوونَ عَلىٰ أَحَدٍ وَالرَّسولُ يَدعوكُم في أُخراكُم فَأَثابَكُم غَمًّا بِغَمٍّ لِكَيلا

تَحزَنوا عَلىٰ ما فاتَكُم وَلا ما أَصابَكُم ۗ وَاللَّهُ خَبيرٌ بِما تَعمَلونَ

 ʾidh tuṣʿidūna wa-lā talwūna ʿalā ʾaḥadin wa-r-rasūlu yadʿūkum fī ʾukhrākum fa-ʾathābakum ghamman bi-ghammin li-kay-lā taḥzanū ʿalā mā fātakum wa-lā mā ʾaṣābakum wa-llāhu khabīrun bi-mā taʿmalūna

When you were fleeing without paying any attention to anyone, while the Apostle was calling you from your rear, He requited you with grief upon grief, so that you may not grieve for what you lose nor for what befalls you, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

너희가 언덕에 올라 어느 누구에게도 주의를 기울이지 안했을 때 너희 뒤에 계시던 선지자께서 너희를 부르더라. 그리하여 하나님께서는 너희에게 슬픔과 슬픔으로 보상을 주시었으며 너희가 잃은 것과 너희에게 닥친 것에 대하여 슬퍼하지 말라 하시었으니 하나님은 그들이 행하는 모든 것을 알고 계심이라.

 

154) ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيكُم مِن بَعدِ الغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُعاسًا يَغشىٰ طائِفَةً مِنكُم ۖ وَطائِفَةٌ قَد أَهَمَّتهُم أَنفُسُهُم

يَظُنّونَ بِاللَّهِ غَيرَ الحَقِّ ظَنَّ الجاهِلِيَّةِ ۖ يَقولونَ هَل لَنا مِنَ الأَمرِ مِن شَيءٍ ۗ قُل إِنَّ الأَمرَ كُلَّهُ

لِلَّهِ ۗ يُخفونَ في أَنفُسِهِم ما لا يُبدونَ لَكَ ۖ يَقولونَ لَو كانَ لَنا مِنَ الأَمرِ شَيءٌ ما قُتِلنا هاهُنا ۗ

قُل لَو كُنتُم في بُيوتِكُم لَبَرَزَ الَّذينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيهِمُ القَتلُ إِلىٰ مَضاجِعِهِم ۖ وَلِيَبتَلِيَ اللَّهُ ما في

صُدورِكُم وَلِيُمَحِّصَ ما في قُلوبِكُم ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَليمٌ بِذاتِ الصُّدورِ

thumma ʾanzala ʿalaykum min baʿdi l-ghammi ʾamanatan nuʿāsan yaghshā ṭāʾifatan minkum wa-ṭāʾifatun qad ʾahammathum ʾanfusuhum yaẓunnūna bi-llāhi ghayra l-ḥaqqi ẓanna l-jāhiliyyati yaqūlūna hal lanā mina l-ʾamri min shayʾin qul ʾinna l-ʾamra kullahū li-llāhi yukhfūna fī ʾanfusihim mā lā yubdūna laka yaqūlūna law kāna lanā mina l-ʾamri shayʾun mā qutilnā hāhunā qul law kuntum fī buyūtikum la-baraza lladhīna kutiba ʿalayhimu l-qatlu ʾilā maḍājiʿihim wa-li-yabtaliya llāhu mā fī ṣudūrikum wa-li-yumaḥḥiṣa mā fī qulūbikum wa-llāhu ʿalīmun bi-dhāti ṣ-ṣudūri

Then He sent down to you safety after grief -a drowsiness that came over a group of you- while another group, anxious only about themselves, entertained false notions about Allah, notions of [pagan] ignorance. They say, ‘Do we have any role in the matter?’ Say, ‘Indeed the matter belongs totally to Allah.’ They hide in their hearts what they do not disclose to you. They say, ‘Had we any role in the matter, we would not have been slain here.’ Say, ‘Even if you had remained in your houses, those destined to be slain would have set out toward the places where they were laid to rest, so that Allah may test what is in your breasts, and that He may purge what is in your hearts, and Allah knows best what is in the breasts.’

이 슬픔 이후 하나님은 너희에게 평안을 주었으니 너희들 가운데 무리는 평온을 찾았으나 다른 무리는 근심으로 동요되어 있었노라. 무지한 사람들처럼 ‘하나님을 나쁘게 생각하고 우리에게는 아무것도 없지 않는가?’ 라고 말하더라. 가로되 모든 것은 하나님 권능 안에 있다 말하라. 그들은 마음속에 숨기고 밝히지 않는 것이 있노라. ‘우리가 나가지 않았더라면 여기서 살해되지 안 했을텐데.’ 라고 말들 하나 일러 가로되, ‘너희가 만일 너희 집에 있었다 하더라도 살해되었거나 또한 임명된 그들은 죽음터로 분명히 갔을 것이라. 이는 하 나님께서 너희 심중에 있는 것을 시험하여 너희 마음에 있는 것을 정화하려 하셨나니 하나님은 너희 마음의 비밀을 알고 계시니라.’

 

155) إِنَّ الَّذينَ تَوَلَّوا مِنكُم يَومَ التَقَى الجَمعانِ إِنَّمَا استَزَلَّهُمُ الشَّيطانُ بِبَعضِ ما كَسَبوا ۖ وَلَقَد عَفَا

اللَّهُ عَنهُم ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفورٌ حَليمٌ

 ʾinna lladhīna tawallaw minkum yawma ltaqā l-jamʿāni ʾinnamā stazallahumu sh-shayṭānu bi-baʿḍi mā kasabū wa-la-qad ʿafā llāhu ʿanhum ʾinna llāha ghafūrun ḥalīmun

Those of you who fled on the day when the two hosts met, only Satan had made them stumble because of some of their deeds. Certainly Allah has excused them, for Allah is all-forgiving, all-forbearing.

두 무리가 만나는 날, 너희 가운데 등을 돌렸던 자들을 헛되게 한 것은 사탄이며 이것은 그들이 저지른 죄악 때문이라. 그러나 하나님은 그들의 죄를 사하여 주시니 하나님은 관용과 자비로 충만하심이라.

 

156) يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ آمَنوا لا تَكونوا كَالَّذينَ كَفَروا وَقالوا لِإِخوانِهِم إِذا ضَرَبوا فِي الأَرضِ أَو كانوا

غُزًّى لَو كانوا عِندَنا ما ماتوا وَما قُتِلوا لِيَجعَلَ اللَّهُ ذٰلِكَ حَسرَةً في قُلوبِهِم ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحيي

وَيُميتُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِما تَعمَلونَ بَصيرٌ

yā-ʾayyuhā lladhīna ʾāmanū lā takūnū ka-lladhīna kafarū wa-qālū li-ʾikhwānihim ʾidhā ḍarabū fī l-ʾarḍi ʾaw kānū ghuzzan law kānū ʿindanā mā mātū wa-mā qutilū li-yajʿala llāhu dhālika ḥasratan fī qulūbihim wa-llāhu yuḥyī wa-yumītu wa-llāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun

O you who have faith! Do not be like the faithless who say of their brethren, when they travel in the land or go into battle, ‘Had they stayed with us they would not have died or been killed,’ so that Allah may make it a regret in their hearts. But Allah gives life and brings death, and Allah sees best what you do.

믿음을 가진 자들이여! 위선자가 되어 멀리 떠나는 자에게 또는 전쟁에 나가는 자에게 만일 너희가 우리와 함께 했다면 죽지도 안했을 뿐만 아니라 살해되지도 안 했을텐데 라고 그들 형제에게 말하지 말라. 하나님은 그들 심중에 고뇌를 심어줄 것이며 하나님은 생명을 부여하고 앗아가며 너희가 행하는 모든 것을 보고 계시니라.

 

157) وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌۭ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ

wa-la-ʾin qutiltum fī sabīli llāhi ʾaw muttum la-maghfiratun mina llāhi wa-raḥmatun khayrun mimmā yajmaʿūna

If you are slain in the way of Allah, or die, surely forgiveness and mercy from Allah are better than what they amass.

하나님의 길에서 살해당했거나 죽었다면 하나님으로부터 관용과 자비가 있을지니 이는 생전에 축적한 것보다 나으리라.

 

158) وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

wa-la-ʾin muttum ʾaw qutiltum la-ʾilā llāhi tuḥsharūna

And if you die or are slain, you will surely be mustered toward Allah.

만일 너희가 죽었거나 살해당했다면 너희는 하나님께로 돌아 가니라.

 

159) فَبِما رَحمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُم ۖ وَلَو كُنتَ فَظًّا غَليظَ القَلبِ لَانفَضّوا مِن حَولِكَ ۖ فَاعفُ عَنهُم

وَاستَغفِر لَهُم وَشاوِرهُم فِي الأَمرِ ۖ فَإِذا عَزَمتَ فَتَوَكَّل عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ المُتَوَكِّلينَ

fa-bi-mā raḥmatin mina llāhi linta lahum wa-law kunta faẓẓan ghalīẓa l-qalbi la-nfaḍḍū min ḥawlika fa-ʿfu ʿanhum wa-staghfir lahum wa-shāwirhum fī l-ʾamri fa-ʾidhā ʿazamta fa-tawakkal ʿalā llāhi ʾinna llāha yuḥibbu l-mutawakkilīna

It is by Allah’s mercy that you are gentle to them; and had you been harsh and hardhearted, surely they would have scattered from around you. So excuse them, and plead for forgiveness for them, and consult them in the affairs, and once you are resolved, put your trust in Allah. Indeed Allah loves those who trust in Him.

하나님의 자비로 말미암아 그대는 그들을 인자함으로 대하였도다. 만일 그대가 혹독하고 가혹한 마음을 가졌다면 그들은 그대로부터 멀어져 갔을 것이라. 그들을 인자하게 대하고 관용을 베풀며 일을 다를 때는 그들에게 의견을 물어보라. 만일 결정을 했을 때는 하나님께 구원하라. 하나님께 구원하는 자는 그 분의 사랑을 받노라.

 

160) إِن يَنصُركُمُ اللَّهُ فَلا غالِبَ لَكُم ۖ وَإِن يَخذُلكُم فَمَن ذَا الَّذي يَنصُرُكُم مِن بَعدِهِ ۗ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ

فَليَتَوَكَّلِ المُؤمِنونَ

 ʾin yanṣurkumu llāhu fa-lā ghāliba lakum wa-ʾin yakhdhulkum fa-man dhā lladhī yanṣurukum min baʿdihī wa-ʿalā llāhi fa-l-yatawakkali l-muʾminūna

If Allah helps you, no one can overcome you, but if He forsakes you, who will help you after Him? So in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.

하나님이 너희 편에 있을 때, 아무도 너희를 압도하지 못할 것이며 하나님이 이를 거두실 때 누가 너희를 돕겠느뇨? 믿는 자들이여! 하나님께 의지하라.

 

161) وَما كانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَن يَغُلَّ ۚ وَمَن يَغلُل يَأتِ بِما غَلَّ يَومَ القِيامَةِ ۚ ثُمَّ تُوَفّىٰ كُلُّ نَفسٍ ما كَسَبَت

وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَ

wa-mā kāna li-nabiyyin ʾan yaghulla wa-man yaghlul yaʾti bi-mā ghalla yawma l-qiyāmati thumma tuwaffā kullu nafsin mā kasabat wa-hum lā yuẓlamūna

A prophet may not breach his trust, and whoever breaches his trust will bring his breaches on the Day of Resurrection; then every soul shall be recompensed fully for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.

예언자가 결코 믿음을 배반하지 않거늘 위선을 하는 자가 있다면 심판의 날 그가 위선했던 것이 함께 오니라. 인간은 그가 축적한 모든 것을 되돌려 받되 불공평 하지 않노라.

 

162) أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

 ʾa-fa-mani ttabaʿa riḍwāna llāhi ka-man bāʾa bi-sakhaṭin mina llāhi wa-maʾwāhu jahannamu wa-biʾsa l-maṣīru

Is he who follows [the course of] Allah’s pleasure like him who earns Allah’s displeasure and whose refuge is hell, an evil destination?

하나님의 노여움을 산 자가 하나님을 따르는 자와 같을 수 있느뇨? 그들은 지옥에서 거주할 것이며 불행한 운명을 맞을 것이라.

 

163) هُمْ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ

hum darajātun ʿinda llāhi wa-llāhu baṣīrun bi-mā yaʿmalūna

They have ranks with Allah, and Allah sees best what they do.

그들은 하나님으로부터 서로 다른 보상을 받을 것이라. 하나님은 그들이 행하는 모든 것을 지켜보고 계시니라.

 

164) لَقَد مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى المُؤمِنينَ إِذ بَعَثَ فيهِم رَسولًا مِن أَنفُسِهِم يَتلو عَلَيهِم آياتِهِ وَيُزَكّيهِم

وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الكِتابَ وَالحِكمَةَ وَإِن كانوا مِن قَبلُ لَفي ضَلالٍ مُبينٍ

la-qad manna llāhu ʿalā l-muʾminīna ʾidh baʿatha fīhim rasūlan min ʾanfusihim yatlū ʿalayhim ʾāyātihī wa-yuzakkīhim wa-yuʿallimuhumu l-kitāba wa-l-ḥikmata wa-ʾin kānū min qablu la-fī ḍalālin mubīnin

Allah certainly favoured the faithful when He raised up among them an apostle from among themselves to recite to them His signs and to purify them, and to teach them the Book and wisdom, and earlier they had indeed been in manifest error.

하나님을 믿는 자들에게 은혜를 베푸사 그들에게 선지자를 보내어 하나님의 말씀을 낭송하고 그들을 세제하며 성서와 지혜를 가르쳐 주시었노라 실로 그들은 분명히 방황하고 있었더라.

 

165) أَوَلَمّا أَصابَتكُم مُصيبَةٌ قَد أَصَبتُم مِثلَيها قُلتُم أَنّىٰ هٰذا ۖ قُل هُوَ مِن عِندِ أَنفُسِكُم ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ

عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَديرٌ

 ʾa-wa-lammā ʾaṣābatkum muṣībatun qad ʾaṣabtum mithlayhā qultum ʾannā hādhā qul huwa min ʿindi ʾanfusikum ʾinna llāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

What, when an affliction visits you —while you have inflicted twice as much— do you say, ‘How is this?’! Say, ‘This is from your own souls.’ Indeed Allah has power over all things.

너희가 재앙을 입었을 때 그들은 두 배 이상의 재앙을 입었더라. ‘이것이 어디서 오는 것이냐?’고 말하니 ‘너희 자신으로부터 온 것이라.’ 말하라. 실로 하나님은 모든 일에 전지전능하심이라.

 

166) وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa-mā ʾaṣābakum yawma ltaqā l-jamʿāni fa-bi-ʾidhni llāhi wa-li-yaʿlama l-muʾminīna

What befell you on the day when the two hosts met, was by Allah’s permission, so that He may ascertain the faithful,

너희가 재앙을 당한 것은 두 군대가 마주치는 날이었으며 이는 하나님의 허락으로 성실한 신앙인들을 시험하기 위해서였고,

 

167) وَلِيَعلَمَ الَّذينَ نافَقوا ۚ وَقيلَ لَهُم تَعالَوا قاتِلوا في سَبيلِ اللَّهِ أَوِ ادفَعوا ۖ قالوا لَو نَعلَمُ قِتالًا

لَاتَّبَعناكُم ۗ هُم لِلكُفرِ يَومَئِذٍ أَقرَبُ مِنهُم لِلإيمانِ ۚ يَقولونَ بِأَفواهِهِم ما لَيسَ في قُلوبِهِم ۗ وَاللَّهُ

أَعلَمُ بِما يَكتُمونَ

wa-li-yaʿlama lladhīna nāfaqū wa-qīla lahum taʿālaw qātilū fī sabīli llāhi ʾawi dfaʿū qālū law naʿlamu qitālan la-ttabaʿnākum hum li-l-kufri yawmaʾidhin ʾaqrabu minhum li-l-ʾīmāni yaqūlūna bi-ʾafwāhihim mā laysa fī qulūbihim wa-llāhu ʾaʿlamu bi-mā yaktumūna

and ascertain the hypocrites. [When] they were told: ‘Come, fight in the way of Allah, or defend [yourselves], they said, ‘If we knew any fighting, surely we would have followed you.’ That day they were nearer to unfaith than to faith. They say with their mouths what is not in their hearts, and Allah knows best whatever they conceal.

또한 위선자들을 아시고자 하셨노라. 그들에게 말하여지길, ‘오라. 하나님의 길에서 투쟁하라 아니면 너의 고을을 적으로부터 방어하라.’ 하니 그들이 말하길, ‘우리가 적과 싸운다는 것을 알았더라면 우리는 너희를 따랐을 것이다.’ 라고 말하더라. 그날 그들은 믿음보다는 불신에 가까웠으니 그들은 그들의 입술로써 심중에 아무 것도 없는 것을 말하고 있었노라. 하나님은 그들이 숨기는 것을 아시고 계시니라.

 

168) الَّذينَ قالوا لِإِخوانِهِم وَقَعَدوا لَو أَطاعونا ما قُتِلوا ۗ قُل فَادرَءوا عَن أَنفُسِكُمُ المَوتَ إِن كُنتُم

صادِقينَ

alladhīna qālū li-ʾikhwānihim wa-qaʿadū law ʾaṭāʿūnā mā qutilū qul fa-draʾū ʿan ʾanfusikumu l-mawta ʾin kuntum ṣādiqīna

Those who said of their brethren, while they themselves sat back: ‘Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed.’ Say, ‘Then keep death off from yourselves, should you be truthful.’

살해된 형제들에게 ‘그들이 남아있어 우리를 따랐다면 그들은 살해당하지 안 했을 것이라.’고 말하는 그들이 있나니 ‘너희가 만일 진실을 말하고 있다면 너희 자신들에 관한 죽음을 방어하라.’ 하시니라.

 

169) وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتًۢا ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ

wa-lā taḥsabanna lladhīna qutilū fī sabīli llāhi ʾamwātan bal ʾaḥyāʾun ʿinda rabbihim yurzaqūna

Do not suppose those who were slain in the way of Allah to be dead; rather they are living and provided for near their Lord,

하나님의 길에서 순교한 자가 죽었다고 생각하지 말라. 그들은 하나님의 양식을 먹으며 하나님 곁에서 살아 있노라.

 

170) فَرِحينَ بِما آتاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضلِهِ وَيَستَبشِرونَ بِالَّذينَ لَم يَلحَقوا بِهِم مِن خَلفِهِم أَلّا خَوفٌ

عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ

fariḥīna bi-mā ʾātāhumu llāhu min faḍlihī wa-yastabshirūna bi-lladhīna lam yalḥaqū bihim min khalfihim ʾallā khawfun ʿalayhim wa-lā hum yaḥzanūna

exulting in what Allah has given them out of His grace, and rejoicing for those who have not yet joined them from [those left] behind them that they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.

그들은 하나님이 주신 은혜로 기뻐하며 그들과 함께 하지 못하고 뒤에 올 순교자들을 기쁘게 할 것이며 그곳에는 두려움도 슬픔도 없노라.

 

171) ۞ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍۢ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

yastabshirūna bi-niʿmatin mina llāhi wa-faḍlin wa-ʾanna llāha lā yuḍīʿu ʾajra l-muʾminīna

They rejoice in Allah’s blessing and grace, and that Allah does not waste the reward of the faithful.

그들은 기뻐하리니 하나님의 은총과 자비가 그것이로다. 하나님은 믿는 자들의 보상을 삭감치 않으시니라.

 

172) ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْقَرْحُ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ

alladhīna stajābū li-llāhi wa-r-rasūli min baʿdi mā ʾaṣābahumu l-qarḥu li-lladhīna ʾaḥsanū minhum wa-ttaqaw ʾajrun ʿaẓīmun-i

Those who responded to Allah and the Apostle [even] after they had been wounded -for those of them who have been virtuous and Godwary there shall be a great reward.

그들이 부상을 입은 후에라도 하나님과 선지자의 부름에 응하여 정의를 실천하고 사악을 멀리 한다면 크나큰 보상을 받으리라.

 

173) الَّذينَ قالَ لَهُمُ النّاسُ إِنَّ النّاسَ قَد جَمَعوا لَكُم فَاخشَوهُم فَزادَهُم إيمانًا وَقالوا حَسبُنَا اللَّهُ

وَنِعمَ الوَكيلُ

alladhīna qāla lahumu n-nāsu ʾinna n-nāsa qad jamaʿū lakum fa-khshawhum fa-zādahum ʾīmānan wa-qālū ḥasbunā llāhu wa-niʿma l-wakīlu

Those to whom the people said, ‘All the people have gathered against you; so fear them.’ That only increased them in faith, and they said, ‘Allah is sufficient for us, and He is an excellent trustee.’

무리가 그들에게 말하길, ‘많은 군중이 너희에게 대항하여 오나니 그들을 두려워하라.’ 그러니 그들의 신앙은 더욱 두터워졌으니 그들이 말하더라. ‘우리는 하나님만으로 만족하나니 승리는 그 분에게 의탁하는 자에게 있노라.’

 

(174) فَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ بِنِعْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍۢ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوٓءٌۭ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ

fa-nqalabū bi-niʿmatin mina llāhi wa-faḍlin lam yamsashum sūʾun wa-ttabaʿū riḍwāna llāhi wa-llāhu dhū faḍlin ʿaẓīmin

So they returned with Allah’s blessing and grace, untouched by any evil. They pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is dispenser of a great grace.

그리하여 그들은 하나님의 자비와 은총을 입고 돌아왔으며 그들을 해치는 것 없었으니 이는 그들이 하나님을 추종했기 때문이라. 하나님은 무한한 은총으로 충만하심이라.

 

175) إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

 ʾinnamā dhālikumu sh-shayṭānu yukhawwifu ʾawliyāʾahū fa-lā takhāfūhum wa-khāfūni ʾin kuntum muʾminīna

That is only Satan frightening his followers! So fear them not, and fear Me, should you be faithful.

그들 무리를 두렵게 하는 것은 오직 사탄일 뿐이라. 그들을 두려워하지 말며 믿는 자라면 나만을 두려워하라.

 

176) وَلا يَحزُنكَ الَّذينَ يُسارِعونَ فِي الكُفرِ ۚ إِنَّهُم لَن يَضُرُّوا اللَّهَ شَيئًا ۗ يُريدُ اللَّهُ أَلّا يَجعَلَ لَهُم

حَظًّا فِي الآخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَهُم عَذابٌ عَظيمٌ

wa-lā yaḥzunka lladhīna yusāriʿūna fī l-kufri ʾinnahum lan yaḍurrū llāha shayʾan yurīdu llāhu ʾallā yajʿala lahum ḥaẓẓan fī l-ʾākhirati wa-lahum ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmun

Do not grieve for those who are active in unfaith; they will not hurt Allah in the least: Allah desires to give them no share in the Hereafter, and there is a great punishment for them.

믿음을 쉽사리 저버리는 자들이 그대를 슬프게 하지 아니하며 그들은 하나님을 조금도 저해할 수 없노라. 하나님은 내세에서 그들에게 아무런 양식도 주지 아니하시며 그들에게는 가혹한 재앙만 있을 따름이라.

 

177) إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

 ʾinna lladhīna shtarawu l-kufra bi-l-ʾīmāni lan yaḍurrū llāha shayʾan wa-lahum ʿadhābun ʾalīmun

Those who have bought unfaith for faith will not hurt Allah in the least, and there is a painful punishment for them.

믿음을 버리고 불신을 택하는 자들이 있나니 이들 또한 하나님을 조금도 저해할 수 없으며 하나님은 그들에게 고통스러운 재앙을 가져다주리라.

 

178) وَلا يَحسَبَنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا أَنَّما نُملي لَهُم خَيرٌ لِأَنفُسِهِم ۚ إِنَّما نُملي لَهُم لِيَزدادوا إِثمًا ۚ وَلَهُم

عَذابٌ مُهينٌ

wa-lā yaḥsabanna lladhīna kafarū ʾannamā numlī lahum khayrun li-ʾanfusihim ʾinnamā numlī lahum li-yazdādū ʾithman wa-lahum ʿadhābun muhīnun

Let the faithless not suppose that the respite that We grant them is good for their souls: We give them respite only that they may increase in sin, and there is a humiliating punishment for them.

하나님이 불신자들과 잠시 머물러 있음이 그들에게 길보라고 생각하지 않게 하리라. 실로 그 분이 그들과 잠시 체류함은 죄악을 증가시켜 그들에게 재앙이 있게 할 따름이라.

 

179) ما كانَ اللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ المُؤمِنينَ عَلىٰ ما أَنتُم عَلَيهِ حَتّىٰ يَميزَ الخَبيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ ۗ وَما كانَ اللَّهُ

لِيُطلِعَكُم عَلَى الغَيبِ وَلٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجتَبي مِن رُسُلِهِ مَن يَشاءُ ۖ فَآمِنوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ ۚ وَإِن تُؤمِنوا

وَتَتَّقوا فَلَكُم أَجرٌ عَظيمٌ

mā kāna llāhu li-yadhara l-muʾminīna ʿalā mā ʾantum ʿalayhi ḥattā yamīza l-khabītha mina ṭ-ṭayyibi wa-mā kāna llāhu li-yuṭliʿakum ʿalā l-ghaybi wa-lākinna llāha yajtabī min rusulihī man yashāʾu fa-ʾāminū bi-llāhi wa-rusulihī wa-ʾin tuʾminū wa-tattaqū fa-lakum ʾajrun ʿaẓīmun

Allah will not leave the faithful in your present state, until He has separated the bad ones from the good. Allah will not acquaint you with the Unseen, but Allah chooses from His apostles whomever He wishes. So have faith in Allah and His apostles; and if you are faithful and Godwary, there shall be a great reward for you.

하나님은 믿는 자들이 처하고 있는 상태로 버려두지 아니하시며 사악으로부터 구별하고 길보로 인도하사 보이지 아니한 영계는 밝히지 않으시니라. 그러나 하나님은 그 분의 뜻에 따로 선지자들을 선택하셨으니 하나님과 선지자들을 믿으라. 믿는다면 공경하라. 그리하면 너희에게 크나큰 보상이 있을 것이라.

 

180) وَلا يَحسَبَنَّ الَّذينَ يَبخَلونَ بِما آتاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضلِهِ هُوَ خَيرًا لَهُم ۖ بَل هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُم ۖ سَيُطَوَّقونَ

ما بَخِلوا بِهِ يَومَ القِيامَةِ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ ميراثُ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِما تَعمَلونَ خَبيرٌ

wa-lā yaḥsabanna lladhīna yabkhalūna bi-mā ʾātāhumu llāhu min faḍlihī huwa khayran lahum bal huwa sharrun lahum sa-yuṭawwaqūna mā bakhilū bihī yawma l-qiyāmati wa-li-llāhi mīrāthu s-samāwāti wa-l-ʾarḍi wa-llāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna khabīrun

Let the stingy not suppose that [their grudging] what Allah has given them out of His grace is good for them; rather it is bad for them. They will be collared with what they grudge on the Day of Resurrection. To Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

하나님이 베풀어 그들이 축적한 재물을 사용하는데 인색해하는 것이 그들에게 더 좋을지 모르나 오히려 그 인색함이 그들에게 더욱 사악하리라는 것을 생각하게 하리라. 인색했던 것들이 심판의 날 그들의 목을 죄이리도다. 천지에 남아 있는 유산이 하나님께 귀속되나니 하나님은 그들이 행하는 것들을 알고 계시니라.

 

181) لَقَد سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَولَ الَّذينَ قالوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ فَقيرٌ وَنَحنُ أَغنِياءُ ۘ سَنَكتُبُ ما قالوا وَقَتلَهُمُ الأَنبِياءَ

بِغَيرِ حَقٍّ وَنَقولُ ذوقوا عَذابَ الحَريقِ

la-qad samiʿa llāhu qawla lladhīna qālū ʾinna llāha faqīrun wa-naḥnu ʾaghniyāʾu sa-naktubu mā qālū wa-qatlahumu l-ʾanbiyāʾa bi-ghayri ḥaqqin wa-naqūlu dhūqū ʿadhāba l-ḥarīqi

Allah has certainly heard the remark of those who said, ‘Allah is poor and we are rich.’ We will record what they have said, and their killing of the prophets unjustly, and We shall say, ‘Taste the punishment of the burning.

‘하나님은 궁핍하나 우리는 부유하도다.’ 라고 말하는 유대인들의 소리를 하나님은 들으셨나니 하나님은 그들이 말하는 것과 선지자들을 살해한 죄악을 기록하시며 가로되 ‘이글거리는 유황불을 맛볼지어다.’

 

182) ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍۢ لِّلْعَبِيدِ

dhālika bi-mā qaddamat ʾaydīkum wa-ʾanna llāha laysa bi-ẓallāmin li-l-ʿabīdi

That is because of what your hands have sent ahead, and because Allah is not tyrannical to the servants.’

‘이것은 너희들이 저지른 것이로되 하나님은 실로 그 종복들에게 절대로 부당하지 않으시니라.’

 

183) الَّذينَ قالوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَينا أَلّا نُؤمِنَ لِرَسولٍ حَتّىٰ يَأتِيَنا بِقُربانٍ تَأكُلُهُ النّارُ ۗ قُل قَد جاءَكُم

رُسُلٌ مِن قَبلي بِالبَيِّناتِ وَبِالَّذي قُلتُم فَلِمَ قَتَلتُموهُم إِن كُنتُم صادِقينَ

alladhīna qālū ʾinna llāha ʿahida ʾilaynā ʾallā nuʾmina li-rasūlin ḥattā yaʾtiyanā bi-qurbānin taʾkuluhu n-nāru qul qad jāʾakum rusulun min qablī bi-l-bayyināti wa-bi-lladhī qultum fa-li-ma qataltumūhum ʾin kuntum ṣādiqīna

[To] those who say, ‘Allah has pledged us not to believe in any apostle unless he brings us an offering consumed by fire,’ say, ‘Apostles before me certainly brought you manifest signs and what you speak of. Then why did you kill them, should you be truthful?’

‘하나님께서 우리에게 명하여 하늘에서 불이 내려와 삼켜버린 제물을 우리에게 가져올 때까지 선지자를 믿지 말라.’ 말하는 자 있나니 일러 가로되 ‘내 이전에 말씀과 너희가 요구한 것들을 가지고 선지자들이 오셨을 때 너희가 진실이라면 왜 그들을 살해하였느뇨?’

 

184) فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌۭ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ

fa-ʾin kadhdhabūka fa-qad kudhdhiba rusulun min qablika jāʾū bi-l-bayyināti wa-z-zuburi wa-l-kitābi l-munīri

But if they deny you, then before you [other] apostles have been denied, who came with manifest signs, holy writs, and an illuminating scripture.

만일 그들이 그대를 부인한다면 그 이전의 말씀과 시편과 구약과 신약을 가져온 선지자들도 부정되노라.

 

185) كُلُّ نَفسٍ ذائِقَةُ المَوتِ ۗ وَإِنَّما تُوَفَّونَ أُجورَكُم يَومَ القِيامَةِ ۖ فَمَن زُحزِحَ عَنِ النّارِ وَأُدخِلَ الجَنَّةَ

فَقَد فازَ ۗ وَمَا الحَياةُ الدُّنيا إِلّا مَتاعُ الغُرورِ

kullu nafsin dhāʾiqatu l-mawti wa-ʾinnamā tuwaffawna ʾujūrakum yawma l-qiyāmati fa-man zuḥziḥa ʿani n-nāri wa-ʾudkhila l-jannata fa-qad fāza wa-mā l-ḥayātu d-dunyā ʾillā matāʿu l-ghurūri

Every soul shall taste death, and you will indeed be paid your full rewards on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever is delivered from the Fire and admitted to paradise has certainly succeeded. The life of this world is nothing but the wares of delusion.

모든 인간은 죽음을 맛보며 심판의 날 보상을 받게 되니라. 지옥으로부터 구제된 자에게는 천국의 문이 열릴 것이며 그곳에서 영광을 누리노라. 이 세상은 단지 기만의 속세에 불과하니라.

 

186) ۞ لَتُبلَوُنَّ في أَموالِكُم وَأَنفُسِكُم وَلَتَسمَعُنَّ مِنَ الَّذينَ أوتُوا الكِتابَ مِن قَبلِكُم وَمِنَ الَّذينَ

أَشرَكوا أَذًى كَثيرًا ۚ وَإِن تَصبِروا وَتَتَّقوا فَإِنَّ ذٰلِكَ مِن عَزمِ الأُمورِ

la-tublawunna fī ʾamwālikum wa-ʾanfusikum wa-la-tasmaʿunna mina lladhīna ʾūtū l-kitāba min qablikum wa-mina lladhīna ʾashrakū ʾadhan kathīran wa-ʾin taṣbirū wa-tattaqū fa-ʾinna dhālika min ʿazmi l-ʾumūri

You will surely be tested in your possessions and your souls, and you will surely hear from those who were given the Book before you and from the polytheists much affront; but if you are patient and Godwary, that is indeed the steadiest of courses.

너희가 가진 것과 그리고 너희 안에서 시험을 받을 것이며, 너희 이전에 있었던 성서의 백성들로부터 또 우상 숭배자들로부터도 많은 험담을 들으리라. 그러나 인내하고 사악을 멀리하는 것이 만사의 정도라.

 

187) وَإِذ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ ميثاقَ الَّذينَ أوتُوا الكِتابَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُ لِلنّاسِ وَلا تَكتُمونَهُ فَنَبَذوهُ وَراءَ ظُهورِهِم

وَاشتَرَوا بِهِ ثَمَنًا قَليلًا ۖ فَبِئسَ ما يَشتَرونَ

wa-ʾidh ʾakhadha llāhu mīthāqa lladhīna ʾūtū l-kitāba la-tubayyinunnahū li-n-nāsi wa-lā taktumūnahū fa-nabadhūhu warāʾa ẓuhūrihim wa-shtaraw bihī thamanan qalīlan fa-biʾsa mā yashtarūna

When Allah made a covenant with those who were given the Book: ‘You shall explain it for the people, and you shall not conceal it,’ they cast it behind their backs and sold it for a paltry gain. How evil is what they buy!

하나님이 성서를 받은 그들에게 일러 가로되 인류에게 복음을 전하고 그것을 숨기지 말라 했거늘, 그들은 그것을 감추어 하찮은 것과 매매하여 버렸으니 그들이 매매한 것에 재앙이 있을 것이라.

 

188) لا تَحسَبَنَّ الَّذينَ يَفرَحونَ بِما أَتَوا وَيُحِبّونَ أَن يُحمَدوا بِما لَم يَفعَلوا فَلا تَحسَبَنَّهُم بِمَفازَةٍ مِنَ

العَذابِ ۖ وَلَهُم عَذابٌ أَليمٌ

lā taḥsabanna lladhīna yafraḥūna bi-mā ʾataw wa-yuḥibbūna ʾan yuḥmadū bi-mā lam yafʿalū fa-lā taḥsabannahum bi-mafāzatin mina l-ʿadhābi wa-lahum ʿadhābun ʾalīmun

Do not suppose those who exult in what they have done, and love to be praised for what they have not done -do not suppose them saved from punishment, and there is a painful punishment for them.

그들이 이룬 것으로 기뻐하며 그들이 행하지 아니하고 칭찬 받으리라 생각하지 말 것이며, 그들이 재앙으로부터 피하리라 생각하지 말라. 이들에게는 고통스러운 벌이 있을 뿐이라.

 

189) وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌ

wa-li-llāhi mulku s-samāwāti wa-l-ʾarḍi wa-llāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and Allah has power over all things.

천지의 모든 것이 하나님께 있으니 하나님은 모든 일에 전지전능하심이라.

 

190) إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

 ʾinna fī khalqi s-samāwāti wa-l-ʾarḍi wa-khtilāfi l-layli wa-n-nahāri la-ʾāyātin li-ʾulī l-ʾalbābi

Indeed in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day, there are signs for those who possess intellects.

천지창조를 보고 또 낮과 밤의 변화를 보라. 이해하는 이들을 위한 하나님 권능의 상징이라.

 

191) الَّذينَ يَذكُرونَ اللَّهَ قِيامًا وَقُعودًا وَعَلىٰ جُنوبِهِم وَيَتَفَكَّرونَ في خَلقِ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ رَبَّنا ما

خَلَقتَ هٰذا باطِلًا سُبحانَكَ فَقِنا عَذابَ النّارِ

alladhīna yadhkurūna llāha qiyāman wa-quʿūdan wa-ʿalā junūbihim wa-yatafakkarūna fī khalqi s-samāwāti wa-l-ʾarḍi rabbanā mā khalaqta hādhā bāṭilan subḥānaka fa-qinā ʿadhāba n-nāri

Those who remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth [and say], ‘Our Lord, You have not created this in vain! Immaculate are You! Save us from the punishment of the Fire.

서있을 때나 앉아있을 때나 누워있을 때나 하나님을 염원하고 천지창조를 숙고하는 자들이 있으니 이들이 말하길, ‘주여! 당신은 아무 의도 없이 창조하지 아니하셨나니 당신에게 영광을 드리나이다. 저희를 유황불의 재앙으로부터 보호하여 주소서.’

 

192) رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ ٱلنَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُۥ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍۢ

rabbanā ʾinnaka man tudkhili n-nāra fa-qad ʾakhzaytahū wa-mā li-ẓ-ẓālimīna min ʾanṣārin

Our Lord, whoever that You make enter the Fire will surely have been disgraced by You, and the wrongdoers will have no helpers.

주여! 당신은 누구를 불지옥에 들어가도록 하나이까? 이는 당신께서 그를 치욕스럽도록 하심이니 우매한 자들에게는 어떤 구원자도 없나이다.

 

193) رَبَّنا إِنَّنا سَمِعنا مُنادِيًا يُنادي لِلإيمانِ أَن آمِنوا بِرَبِّكُم فَآمَنّا ۚ رَبَّنا فَاغفِر لَنا ذُنوبَنا وَكَفِّر عَنّا

سَيِّئَاتِنا وَتَوَفَّنا مَعَ الأَبرارِ

rabbanā ʾinnanā samiʿnā munādiyan yunādī li-l-ʾīmāni ʾan ʾāminū bi-rabbikum fa-ʾāmannā rabbanā fa-ghfir lanā dhunūbanā wa-kaffir ʿannā sayyiʾātinā wa-tawaffanā maʿa l-ʾabrāri

Our Lord, we have indeed heard a summoner calling to faith, declaring, “Have faith in your Lord!” So we believed. Our Lord, forgive us our sins and absolve us of our misdeeds, and make us die with the pious.

주여! 저희는 주님을 믿으라 라는 믿음의 부름을 듣고 믿었나이다. 주여! 저희의 죄를 사하여 주옵시고 저희를 속죄하여 저희가 의로운 자들과 함께 하도록 하여 주소서.

 

194) رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ

rabbanā wa-ʾātinā mā waʿadtanā ʿalā rusulika wa-lā tukhzinā yawma l-qiyāmati ʾinnaka lā tukhlifu l-mīʿāda

Our Lord, give us what You have promised us through Your apostles, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed You do not break Your promise.’

주여! 당신의 선지자들을 통하여 약속하신 것을 저희에게 주옵소서. 심판의 날에 저희를 방황하지 않도록 하여주소서. 당신은 약속을 지키시는 분이옵니다.

 

195) فَاستَجابَ لَهُم رَبُّهُم أَنّي لا أُضيعُ عَمَلَ عامِلٍ مِنكُم مِن ذَكَرٍ أَو أُنثىٰ ۖ بَعضُكُم مِن بَعضٍ ۖ

فَالَّذينَ هاجَروا وَأُخرِجوا مِن دِيارِهِم وَأوذوا في سَبيلي وَقاتَلوا وَقُتِلوا لَأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنهُم سَيِّئَاتِهِم

وَلَأُدخِلَنَّهُم جَنّاتٍ تَجري مِن تَحتِهَا الأَنهارُ ثَوابًا مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ حُسنُ الثَّوابِ

fa-stajāba lahum rabbuhum ʾannī lā ʾuḍīʿu ʿamala ʾāmilin minkum min dhakarin ʾaw ʾunthā baʿḍukum min baʿḍin fa-lladhīna hājarū wa-ʾukhrijū min diyārihim wa-ʾūdhū fī sabīlī wa-qātalū wa-qutilū la-ʾukaffiranna ʿanhum sayyiʾātihim wa-la-ʾudkhilannahum jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l-ʾanhāru thawāban min ʿindi llāhi wa-llāhu ʿindahū ḥusnu th-thawābi

Then their Lord answered them, ‘I do not waste the work of any worker among you, whether male or female; you are all on the same footing. So those who migrated and were expelled from their homes, and were tormented in My way, and those who fought and were killed —I will surely absolve them of their misdeeds and I will admit them into gardens with streams running in them, as a reward from Allah, and Allah—with Him is the best of rewards.’

주님께서 그들에 응하시어, ‘나는 남녀를 불문하고 그들이 행한 어떠한 일도 헛되지 않게 할 것이라. 너희는 서로 동등하니라. 그들의 집을 떠났거나 추방당했거나 나의 길에서 수고한 자 성전 하였거나 살해당한 그들을 속죄하여 줄 것이며 강이 흐르는 천국으로 들어가게 하리니 이것이 하나님으로부터 받을 보상이라. 그중 좋은 보상은 하나님께 있노라.

 

196) لَا يَغُرَّنَّكَ تَقَلُّبُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ

lā yaghurrannaka taqallubu lladhīna kafarū fī l-bilādi

Never be misled by the bustle of the faithless in the towns.

지상에서 믿지 아니한 자들의 흥망성쇠가 그대를 기만치 않도록 하리라.

 

197) مَتَٰعٌۭ قَلِيلٌۭ ثُمَّ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ

matāʿun qalīlun thumma maʾwāhum jahannamu wa-biʾsa l-mihādu

It is a trivial enjoyment; then their refuge is hell, and it is an evil resting place.

쾌락은 순간이요 그들의 주거지는 지옥이니 얼마나 저주받은 거처이뇨.

 

198) لٰكِنِ الَّذينَ اتَّقَوا رَبَّهُم لَهُم جَنّاتٌ تَجري مِن تَحتِهَا الأَنهارُ خالِدينَ فيها نُزُلًا مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ ۗ

وَما عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيرٌ لِلأَبرارِ

lākini lladhīna ttaqaw rabbahum lahum jannātun tajrī min taḥtihā l-ʾanhāru khālidīna fīhā nuzulan min ʿindi llāhi wa-mā ʿinda llāhi khayrun li-l-ʾabrāri

But those who are wary of their Lord —for them shall be gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever], a hospitality from Allah; and what is with Allah is better for the pious.

그러나 주님을 두려워하는 이들에게는 강이 흐르는 천국이 그들의 것이 될 것이요, 그곳에서 영생하리라. 이는 하나님이 내려주신 것으로써 하나님께 있는 모든 것은 의로운 자들을 위한 축복이라.

 

199) وَإِنَّ مِن أَهلِ الكِتابِ لَمَن يُؤمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَما أُنزِلَ إِلَيكُم وَما أُنزِلَ إِلَيهِم خاشِعينَ لِلَّهِ لا يَشتَرونَ

بِآياتِ اللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَليلًا ۗ أُولٰئِكَ لَهُم أَجرُهُم عِندَ رَبِّهِم ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَريعُ الحِسابِ

wa-ʾinna min ʾahli l-kitābi la-man yuʾminu bi-llāhi wa-mā ʾunzila ʾilaykum wa-mā ʾunzila ʾilayhim khāshiʿīna li-llāhi lā yashtarūna bi-ʾāyāti llāhi thamanan qalīlan ʾulāʾika lahum ʾajruhum ʿinda rabbihim ʾinna llāha sarīʿu l-ḥisābi

Indeed among the People of the Book there are surely some who have faith in Allah, and in what has been sent down to you, and in what has been sent down to them. Humble toward Allah, they do not sell the signs of Allah for a paltry gain. They shall have their reward near their Lord; indeed Allah is swift at reckoning.

성서의 백성들 중에는 하나님을 믿고 너희에게 계시되었던 것과 그들에게 계시되었던 것을 믿으며 하나님께 겸손하고 하찮은 것을 하나님이 말씀으로 구매하지 아니한 자 있나니 그들에게 하나님의 보상이 있으리라. 하나님은 가장 빠르게 계산하는 분이시라.

 

200) يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱصْبِرُوا۟ وَصَابِرُوا۟ وَرَابِطُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

yā-ʾayyuhā lladhīna ʾāmanū ṣbirū wa-ṣābirū wa-rābiṭū wa-ttaqū llāha laʿallakum tufliḥūna

O you who have faith! Be patient, stand firm, and close [your] ranks, and be wary of Allah so that you may be felicitous.

믿음을 가진 자들이여 인내하라. 인내함에 경쟁하며 단결하라. 그리고 하나님을 공경하라. 너희가 번성하리라.

 

코란

 

이슬람교도들이 신의 말씀이라고 믿는 경전. 이슬람교도는 <코란>이 태초의 신의 말씀으로 마호메트를 통해 인류에게 전달되었다고 믿고 있다. 따라서 <코란>을 낭송하는 것은 그리스도교인이 찬송가를 부르는 것이나 불교도가 불경을 읽는 것과 비슷한 정도의 중요성을 갖는다. 기독교의 <성경>이 종교적 의의와 기준에 머무르고 있으며 실 생활의 적용에서는 종파에 따라서 상당한 해석의 차이가 있음에 비해, 많은 독실한 이슬람교도에게 <코란>은 거의 절대적인 일상 생활의 지표이기도 하다. 〈코란〉은 아랍어 기록 문헌 중에서 가장 오래되었을 뿐만 아니라 아랍 문학에 미친 영향도 크다.

 

개요

이슬람교의 경전. '코란'이란 말은 '읽다'라는 의미의 아랍어에서 유래한 말로 '읽는 것', 즉 '독경(讀經)'을 뜻한다. '예언자가 받은 첫번째 계시 96장 제1절도 '읽어라'로 시작된다. 이슬람의 기본 가르침은 〈코란〉에 있다. <코란>은 114장 6,200여 절로 되어 있고 가장 긴 장은 30여 쪽이나 되지만 짧은 것은 불과 3, 4행으로 구성되어 있다. 메카 초기의 계시는 주로 인간의 내면적인 것, 즉 절대신과의 관계와 임박한 최후의 심판 등을 다룬 내용이다. 반면 메디나의 계시는 인간의 외면적인 것이어서 그 내용은 이슬람의 교단(敎團)이나 종교 공동체의 행정과 그 구성원들의 일상생활에 관한 것이 많다. 메디나 계시에는 <구약성서>, <신약성서>에서 유래한 내용도 포함되어 있다.

 

의의

이슬람교도(Muslim)들은 〈코란〉이 태초의 신의 말씀으로 가브리엘 천사가 알라의 명을 받아 문맹(文盲)인 예언자 마호메트라는 복사기를 통해 한 자, 한 획도 빠짐없이 그대로 인류에게 전달했다고 믿는다. 따라서 이 신성한 절대신의 말씀을 운율에 맞추어 낭송하는 것은 그리스도교들이 찬송가를 부르는 것이나 승려들이 불경을 읽는 것과 비슷한 것이다. 또 이슬람교도들에게는 이슬람 성전 건물 안 벽에 우상이나 다른 그림을 새기는 것이 금기사항이었으므로 그곳에 〈코란〉 구절을 새겨넣는 것을 크게 선호하고 있다.

 

구성

오늘날 이슬람교도들이 읽고 있는 〈코란〉은 예언자 마호메트가 사망(632)한 지 20년이 지난 제3대 칼리프 우스만 이븐 아판('Uthmān：644~656 재위) 때에 완성된 것이다. 이때 양피지, 가죽, 야자나무 껍질, 나무 조각 및 낙타의 몸 등 여러 군데 흩어져 씌어 있는 〈코란〉 구절을 모아 비단과 파피루스에 다시 수록하여 기본경전으로 만든 것이다.

 

〈코란〉은 114장 6,200여 절로 나누어져 있고 가장 긴 장(章)은 오늘날의 인쇄체로도 30여 쪽이 되지만 짧은 것은 불과 3, 4행으로 구성되어 있다. 아랍어로 장은 수라(Sura), 절(節)은 아야(Aya)라고 부른다. 각 장의 배열은 마호메트가 20여 년 동안 받은 계시 순이 아니며 제1장을 제외하고 대체로 가장 긴 장에서 짧은 장의 순으로 배열되어 있다. 일반적으로 그 짜임새가 낯선 〈코란〉은 각 장마다 독특한 이름이 있는데, 그 내용과의 연관성을 찾기가 힘들어 처음 읽는 사람들은 내용을 이해하기 어렵다.

 

예를 들면 제2장은 암소의 장(surat al-baqr)이라고 부르는데, 암소에 관한 것은 총 286절 가운데 몇 절에 불과하다. 그 이름도 예언자 모세가 절대신의 명을 받아 살인자를 찾기 위해 암소 1마리를 죽인 데서 나왔다고 한다(2：73). 메카 초기의 계시는 주로 인간의 내면적인 것, 즉 절대신과의 관계와 임박한 최후의 심판 등을 다룬 내용이며 그 문체는 시의 운율로 되어 있지만 산문체이다.

 

반면 메디나에서 받은 계시는 주로 인간의 외면적인 것이어서 그 내용은 움마의 행정과 그 구성원들의 일상생활에 관한 것이 많으며 서술적인 문체이다. 또 메디나 계시는 〈구약성서〉 또는 〈신약성서〉에서 유래한 이야기나 일화도 포함되어 있으나 그 알맹이는 변형된 것이 많다.

 

문학적 가치

〈코란〉은 아랍어 기록 문헌 중에서 가장 오래되었을 뿐만 아니라 아랍 문학에 미친 영향 또한 지대하여 그에 버금 가는 아랍 문헌은 없다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 또한 고대 아랍 문학의 특징인 심취적 요소를 수준 높게 다듬어놓은 모형이어서 오늘날까지 아랍어가 분열되지 않게 막아준 파수꾼 역할을 했다.

 

〈코란〉의 어휘 하나하나는 이슬람교도에게 모두 신성한 것이고 절대진리이기 때문에 그것을 올바로 이해하고, 그 가르침에 따라서 법률을 도출(導出)해야 올바른 이슬람 성법(聖法 Shari'a)이 되는 것이다. 더구나 이슬람교도들은 예언자 생존시부터 국가 권력을 장악했기 때문에 통치수단으로 성법이 전제되어야 했다. 성법의 필요성은 〈코란〉의 해석에서부터 시작되어 그 해석학(tafsir)이 일찍부터 발달되었다(타프시르). 그래서 특정한 구절의 해설을 확정시켜 책으로 발간하기도 했다.

 

해설서

그러나 역사적 여건의 변화와 함께 새로운 해설이 권위를 가지게 된 예도 허다하다. 유명한 해설서로는 타바리(839~923), 자마흐샤리(1075~1145), 파흐룻 딘 알라지(1210 죽음)의 것이 있으며, 최근 것으로는 마호메트 아브두(1848~1905)와 그의 제자 리시드 리다(1935 죽음)의 해설서가 유명하다. 그러나 이들은 모두 수니파의 것이다. 시아파의 해설에는 투시(11세기)의 것이 명성이 높으며 신비주의자들에게는 이븐 알 아라비(1240 죽음)의 것이 주목을 끌고 있다.
